Hi all,
My selling privileges were restricted yesterday because of the new ebay ratings. My DSR was very good but i had several cancelled transactions because of an item that i ran out of stock.
I know that i should not have something listed that i did not have avaialble however this was only for a short period (7 days). Most of the buyers were happy to wait for this dvd but there were some that wanted it cancelled and refunded. Now i feel like i should not have communicated to these buyers as i would not be in the position i am in right now. But yes, i advised all these buyers that i ran out of this title and i would have it within 7 days but i am happy to refund it if required.
I have never used the ebay inventory manager tool as i have my own system that i pay a subscription for to manage my stock levels and ordering.
I contacted Ebay customer service yesterday and was advised from their call centre in the Phillipines that this decision was final and irreversable. I argued that i was a loyal ebay customer for 10 plus years. Had paid all my fees (approx $500.00 per month) on time without delay, had feedback of >99% and my DSR's were of a high standard. I also mentioned that my rating changed on 20/08/14 and that i had 20 days to try and fix this before my account was suspended. Their response to this was "we understand but the decision is final". I then asked to be transferred to comeone who was based in Australia and who had the authority to do something about this. The response was that they support the Australian opertations and there was no one else i could contact.
I have sent an email via Ebay last night in the hope that it would get escalated somewhere but the call centre i spoke with.
Has anyone else been in this position and if so who did you contact and what was the outome?
Help and assistance needed please?
Regards
John (In2 DVD)

Its quite difficult to get your account back I heard. About a month or two ago, some huge seller with quite a good rating accidently made a mistake in their pricing for consoles and electronics. Like a PS4 for $10 or something etc.. and as a result it sold out quite quick with a lot of stock being advertised. Needless to say they had to refund all customer as it was a big mistake and resulted in a huge back lash of alot red negatives as well as copping the defect rate because of all the refunds.
Just chekced their account yesterday, and I am surprised they somehow got it removed. Something that is their fault got removed like ALL the red negatives in regards to that refund because buyers didn't get their PS4/3DS XBOX 1 for $10. Something that will never happen to loser small companies. We will be banned forever if this happened. LoL
It goes to show that big players are obviously given a prefferential treatment and frankly thats how it goes in todays world. The rich will always get richer.
Also I've heard many Chinese sellers get banned and what they do is fly to headquarters and speak to the upper management even after their reception kept telling them they were in a meeting yet they insisted to stay and wait until afterwards (think it was about 8 hours waitiing LOL). None the less, they spoke to them and were able to be so persistant in their goal they were able to get their account reinstated.
Relying on the media, really have no effect. What we need is a union powerful enough to dominated the eCommerce world. At the moment its like we are on child labor but just in the internet world. Sooner or later, someone is going to stand up and Unite us all.

Does not suprise me one bit. to be honest, i have learnt more about ebay in this last week than i have in the last 5 years. They have shown me and many others what they stand for and where their loyalties lie.
Unfortunately us small players will be slowly gone and the bigger players will move in. However i do not believe this strategy will work as these bigger players have their own websites that you can purchase from and most buyers on ebay are either looking for a bargain or something they cannot buy in their location.
In a year or two, ebay will realise this and all of these accounts that has there selling privileges removed will be offered the opportunity to come back. Hopefully by then, ebay will have a some competition for "our" business.
