Hi there. I listed my 1984 special edition penthouse magazine this morning but it was removed by Ebay because it violated some sort of adult material policy. However there are other penthouse magazines on Ebay which have been listed. Just wondering if someone can clarify the rules here? I don't see how mine is different in any way to others already listed on Ebay. Maybe I am missing some sort of official description?

The site map at the bottom of the page is your friend.

and the reason why yours was removed is because someone has reported you. A competitor? Someone was offended? Don't know, but that's why. Ebay usually don't act on these things until someone brings it to their attention.

Ahh I see the rule covering this:
"Movies with PG, or R rating and pre-1980 Playboy, Playgirl and Penthouse magazines are permitted,"
So pre 1980 magazines are permitted but not post 1980. Makes me wonder what happened in 1980 that made these magazines so risky?

I must be old because I can still remember the ad on TV for Penthouse.
Bloke sang "Australian Penthouse,don't be a rabbit,yeh" :^O:^O
It was in competition with Playboy hence the use of the word rabbit ie re Playboy bunnies
JMO but I'd go to Live Help-if others are listed then yours shouldn't have been removed.
Worse case scenario, you can log into ebay.com & list on US site.

Nothing explicit happened, it's just that magazines pre-1980 qualify as antiques, and therefore one can purchase such magazines purely out of legitimate historical interest and preservation - eBay won't buy the 'just read it for the articles' excuse, but they do accept 'in the interest of preserving national heritage'.

You can list it on Gumtree maybe.
