Hi all my 2 cents worth here.
I have been using Sendle for over 2 years now. In that time the lost 1 parcel and refunded my cost no questions asked, then picked up the replacement at no cost.
My experince I would give them 10/10
Aust Post on the other hand before we changed to sendle had a 30% failure rate with us losing item after item and as per the law under
$100 not covered you have to take out insurance.

Besides the dragging up of an old thread, I have always found Aus Post extremely reliable. I send over 1500 items a year and if they had a true failure rate of 30%, then 450 items would go missing, which is simply not the case.
Whilst many of my items go as a letter rate, anything that has been sent tracked is covered up to $50.00 and Aus Post have always refunded me via a money order very promptly on the very, very rare occasion they have lost anything.
I personally take a little extra cover for orders that are valued over $100, but it is for my peace of mind, not the buyers and there is no excess deductible in the event of a claim.

I will use auspost and ask the buyer pays for insurance.
I assume you are selling on another ID, the buyer doesn't have to pay for insurance that is for your protection, not theirs.

I am selling much more via facebook and they pick up. No fees and no problems as with eBay. I chose wrongly to sell via eBay and use sendle!!!! They picked up and they didn’t even scanned at. Pick up. So I don’t even know where I Stand.
As the customer needed it delivered, it doesn't sound like they would have bought on Facebook. Sendle are a broker, not a courier. The courier is the one who needs to scan it. Have you checked the courier's site for the tracking?
I hope you are following social distancing rules with all these pickups. And are laundering washing the money as well as your hands before and after every pickup.

So you're blaming Ebay because you were looking for a cheaper postage service? And from what I've heard Facebook marketplace isn't exactly rockin' it

Sendle are the absolute worst. Here in my area (Coburg VIC) the drivers never attempt delivery, they just automatically send you a notice to pick it up from pack & send.
This is a particular problem during COVID as I have no family in Australia and I am house-bound due to health conditions.
Then, Sendle has no phone number, no way to connect apart from a form on their website which they take weeks to respond to. So I went to pick up my parcel, and when I raised this issue at pack & send, I was met with a torrent of abuse and threats by the owner. I guess he had these complaints before, but that doesn't excuse yelling at me, in my face from zero point distance, with no mask (on him), abusing me and threatening me.
Thankfully I have it all on video as he made me feel unsafe very quickly. But now I'm not even sure what to do with this video.
All I know is that I will never EVER work with, or accept to have anything delivered by, Sendle, or any other companies that work with this sham pack & send operation in Coburg VIC (Couriers Please, which own Sendle and are deeply tied to pack & send).
Stay well away from these companies. Whatever small discount you get, it is not worth it.

Sendle is a courier broker....they are not owned by any courier company. Couriers Please is owned by Singapore Post.
Pack and Send is a very well regarded and very large Logistics Company....hardly a sham as you are saying.
Maybe a bit of research may be in order before bad mouthing companies.

Sendle lost my parcel and U have to refund buyer. However no compensation from sendle. I only found out about the lost item today but sendle have already closed the claim.
