As you can tell from the title I was incredibly stupid to send my item off without having received payment from the buyer. I don't know why I did it - I never do so usually, but the buyer messaged me saying if I could send it asap because they wanted it immediately. 



Anyway, it's been 3 weeks and the buyer still hasn't sent me the money. Whenever I message her, she claims she doesn't have money, or doesn't have Internet, waiting until she gets paid - the list of excuses goes on and on. It's either that or she just completely ignores me. 



So just then I sent her another message asking what's happening, and she said to me "I haven't had internet access sorry that's why I haven't been replying. This dress is actually tooabig on me so would like to return it if possible please. Its veryabig for a size 8 which is very unusual."



Usually I would allow for a refund, but she's had it for 3 weeks and she only just made the decision? Seems a bit fishy to me. She's probably worn it or something. So I told her no I'm not allowing you to refund it and asked her to pay me immediately. 



This is the reply I get: 


"And it's not my fault I haven't been able to access internet to pay you so it hasn't only been an inconvenience to you! There is nothing wrong with the dress. I have only tried it on and it was way too big on me. The dress is still in the same condition as it was when you sent it to me. No different. You won't get my payment tonight. So your choice. I'm rather tired of the way your talking to me as well. Your being completely rude about a matter that has been out of my hands and you had the nerve to accuse me of lying when I share this account so you had no right to make accusations."



I have no idea what to do now. At least I can say I definitely learnt my lesson not to send something off before the buyer pays.

hopefully this lesson hasn't cost you too many $.


 


I had a seller once send me $200 worth of camera gear before I had paid.  I didn't understand it then, and I still don't understand it.  He said I seemed trustworthy, which I am by the way, and he wanted me to get the gear fast.  I paid the day after he sent it.


 


Put them onto your Blocked Bidder List, do it now!

I dont know if there is anything you can do.



As for her " it isnt my fault i havent had access to the internet "



well YES it is her fault, how would she feel if her employer didnt pay her with the excuse " oh sorry it isnt my fault, i havent had time to go to the bank " im sure she would be furious.



And if she doesnt have the money, how did she expect to pay for it when she bid on the item.



Sounds like you have run across a horrible customer with no morals

Maybe you should have allowed her to return the dress.  At least you would have had something to resell to try and recoup some money.

I'm with Lyndal.



The only recourse you might have is to report her to the police online fraud section. This may prompt her to pay. At a minimum I would be opening a NPB case. That way she will get a strike and you will get your FVF back.

It defies logic that you've told her to not return the dress. If you can contact her again ask her to do so. Before you run out of time to open a non paying bidder dispute with ebay.

Tell her to post the dress back and in future put accurate measurements in the listing, then buyers cannot blame you for it not fitting.

hmm this is a tricky one.  At this stage of the transaction I would ask her nicely to send the dress back. If she doesn't respond open an NPB and she will either send it back, pay for it or get a strike.



I hope you haven't lost too much money on it. this one you may have to put down to experience and learn from.

open the unpaid case,i have costumers also or internet not working,or no money,i send before also before costumer pay,from that time i don't send,also set up automatic open case after 4 days money didn't pay,my mistake cost me 2000$and person sound very nice,but in the end she told i will get nothing,soon me and her will have court))))
