There have been delays in shipments to WA due to a recent train derailment I think 10th April. It can take several weeks for people to receive parcels as there is a backlog according to Australia Post. I have had several customers complaining about slow postage so hopefully eBay will remove any undeserved low scores or negative / neutral feedback sellers get due to this out of control issue. Linky below.

It always takes a while to WA, but yes this is looking to be a long haul.
Just as a bit of advice, when a buyer from WA purchases, send them a message advising the parcel will be posted etc etc, and let them know about the notification from AP, so at least they are informed and won't get impatient too early.
During the floods in Qld last year I did this and not one buyer was angry or blamed me for delay's - most people are decent, just keep them in the loop.

Hi GC (waves), yesterday I had a 5kg parcel delivered here in Perth from NSW and I'd only paid late the previous afternoon!!!!!!!
Has to be a record of some sort......
There will probably be an even greater lag in deliveries to WA, apart from the derailment and Easter we had the AP delivery centre closed down yesterday because of suspicious packages (some strange powder in them and threatening notes, re bombs **bleep**)
Edit "bombs f*f*s* "

bombs threats - that can't be good!
Take care you

This is a very good piece of advise GC. I know I often find that parcels I send to WA seem to be slower than on the east coast where I am, but I suppose that is to be expected somewhat due to the distance. I didn't know about that derailment that Robbie mentioned, that'll slow things down even more I expect! Adding advise to customers about the added time to parcels going to WA would certainly be a good idea to guard against negative feedback.

The line was reopened on Thursday and I live near the Melbourne Adelaide line. We have had several trains go past at unusual times tonight so it looks like traffic will flow again. The Easter break will make it hard but there could be some catching up over the next two weeks.
Maybe the large parcel got lucky and got sent by airmail.
My friends in WA call it Wait Awhile for a reason.

I have heard the Wait Awhile term too.
We have a rep oveer there and there is no way to guage how long things will take - a courier co we use sometimes gets cartons there within 3-4 days, a pallet on a logistics co can take up to 10 days, AP - sonme of my C&S parcels arrive with 2 days, amazingly difficult to give any real ETA to a buyer.
Mind you most living in WA are aware of the situation so rarely cause problems.

I bought 2 things from 2 dif sellers in WA last week.
Both marked posted on Thurs april 10
One was a large letter the other a SOD parcel (under 500g)
They both arrived here yesterday Thur 17 April.
a day or two longer than usual, no huge difference except my postman who delivers the small parcels must be a lazy bleeper as he always cards the parcels he has to deliver, even if we are home rant over.

Actually DH - it does work a little wierd - what we SEND to WA can take for ever, what we RECEIVE usually arrives in a timely fashion, not too far out of normal ETA Oz wide.
Not sure why ? maybe the road signs aren't marked as well on the way to WA ???
