Should I accept a return if an itmem makes a squishy sound? Its a jacket.

Do we now need to accept a return if a jacket makes a sound? I think I am getting over this.

Tell them to

1. Buy some corduroy jeans and a bracelet with bells on it

2 Become a one-man (woman?) band

3. ???????

4. Profit!

Seriously, though, I would do the same as jensmanchester, but I accept change of mind returns anyway, so I don't really care what the buyer's reason is, as long as the item is returned in original condition.

Problem is second clothing means they can wear it to a function and then get their money back as there is no tags so its free hire and for all I know that is what has happened. I have had some doozies blue green rather than yellow green on the skirt listed as multiple colours of green. Now noise? It is ridiculous, unfortunatelly ebay has bred a bunch of buyers who no longer live in the real world. 99 percent of my customers are beautiful but then you just get this. No fair playing ground and some buyers just fully take advantage of that. I put my prices up on the 1st of November to cover myself for these ridiculous policies..

I can appreciate that (I first started on eBay selling new and second hand clothing, so I can understand the issues seller's face and all the work involved, especially for SH clothing, and have a lot of respect for sellers who can stick it out on the eBay of today 🙂 ).

I also understand feeling a bit like you're over the barrel in these kinds of situations - there was a thread a while back which discussed a few options for trying to prevent the hire of clothing (especially SH), like putting your own swing tags in a prominent place that voids change of mind return if removed, I'm not sure how cost effective the various options were, but it might be something to look into.

Better make it a very quiet swing tag.

During winter I purchased a full length trench coat to keep out the cold while walking & chatting to my dog.

Didn't realise the fabric was rather 'stiff' and did make a swishing sound as I moved.

Rather than worry me - it made me walk with an even swing to make the swish sound good.

Doesn't keep me awake at night.

You could tell your buyer that perhaps the jacket needs oiling Woman LOL Sell her a can of DW40 Woman Happy

Honestly, as a recently retired eBay seller of clothing, new & pre-loved, my heart goes out to you. Thanks to eBay these dim-witted buyers have sellers over a barrel.

I wonder where all of this refunding is going to end. Will a sale ever be a 'true' sale again on eBay? Woman Frustrated

Sorry Helen the reply was intended for the OP.

I've listed a couple of jackets that look quite usual but added that they were a "bit of a woosh-woosh" jacket LOLZ.I don't know if it made a difference to anyone but i do remark about textures etc.

I wore a jacket to work once that wooshed every time i moved & it kind of sounded like i was moving fast & it did annoy me a bit.I did have a laugh about it with work mates though.I doubt i would ever complain to a shop or a seller about it.

It may be just easier to send your buyer the old original advert for WD-40 from back in the 50's.

Here 'tis!
