I know this is a common complaint, but I really am sick of buyers having the advantage over us sellers on ebay! As a seller, I am paying a commission to ebay, paying paypal fees and on top of that, I have buyers who play games, because they know they have the upperhand when it comes to feedback! In this instance, I have one buyer who has purchased a few of my items - 7 days ago - and they said they wanted to keep bidding on my other items - which were listed at a later date. I told them that was fine, however, I would prefer them to pay for their items (without postage) and if they won the other items, I would combine postage for them later on. I was doing this, as how do i know if they are even going to pay for the items in the end... and said they would, but never did and obviusly have just done what they wanted to from the beginning and are now waiting for my other items to finish? They haven't even bid on them yet? I feel like they are doing it as they know my hands are tied? Over it!!!!!

If the buyer really wanted to play games or take advantage, they could have paid for the invoiced items with free postage then never bid on anything else as promised, and you would be obliged to send them with $0 P&H - not to rain on your parade or anything, but you're probably lucky they didn't pay.

Just open a non paying bidder dispute and give them a strike if they don't pay.
Put the buyer on your blocked bidders list so they cannot bid on anything else.
As for who pays the fees....if you price your items properly and take the fees into account, the buyer will be paying in the end.

Seems like you really asking for it really.
You are not required to wait to combine postage. If You suspect buyer being dodgy why on earth let them drag it out???
Negtive feedback does nothing!! NON paying strikes DO!!

Re invoice them with postage on the invoice and tell them once they have finished purchasing you will send a revised invoice with the new combined postage.
This way IF they do pay for the first lot and do not bid on any more you have got the postage from them.
Send them the message again asking if they can pay for the lot you have sent the new invoice for to avoid the opening of non payer disputes that are opened when not marked as payment received.
If after a couple of days they still have not paid or placed bids on other listings then open disputes for those you can and the others as they can be opened.
DO NOT let the buyer string you along as you have more control than you think.

That's why I like BIN - no way a buyer can say they are waiting for an auction to end, they want it, they buy it Now !

I don't see what feedback has to do with it, if the buyer pays then as long as you have done everything as promised why would they leave a neg, if they don't pay and you go through the correct procedure then they cannot leave a neg.
You decide on your policy.
I ask buyers to let me know if they are wanting to bid on other items so that I can exempt them from the automatic unpaid item process started by ebay after 4 days.
I say buyers can have a combined postage discount on items ending within 7 days and paid for on a single invoice if it works out cheaper.
At the end of 7 days after first purchase they get an invoice.
End of, they pay up or they don't.

Hi as a buyer only here i just wanted to say i have often brought several items off of one seller, all with different finishing times.
I've never once been asked to pay for "part" of my items i have just paid when the auctions have finished and i get a combined invoice.
I will also say often i have been back to the same sellers time and time again as well.

Just also wanted to say normally the auctions finishing times are between 3-5 days difference.

Hi eveyone
Thanks for the input. I don't think it is unreasonable for me to ask for the buyer to pay for their items until my other listings finish? The thing is, my listings were over 1 week apart - that's my choice. I'm selling things on ebay to make money. I don't have the time or the storage to keep things for buyers so they can decide whether they want to buy my other products. There is no guarantee that this buyer was going to win my other items - so why should I wait? I'm sure it would be the same thing if I said to the buyer - wait til all my auctions end and I will then send everything in one day? Sorry, but I made the terms clear from the beginning - I expect when someone wins and item - the pay for it. I don't think I am being unreasonable. I was happy to wait and combine postage, but I simply wanted her to secure her purchase.
