Slow Postage

Has anyone else noticed that Australia Post Delivery times have increased over the last few week. I have received a massive increase in people raising cases becuase their package had not been received in the estimated timelines, well outside them for that manner. Often an item not received case is rasied and I have to refund the buyer, only to have the item turn up within a few days. Many of the items I sell are low value and to put tracking on them would either mean I make no profit or if I increased my price , would not sell anything

Has Aust Post made another change recently and not updated their delivery estimates. I have never seen it this bad before

estimated delivery dates are calculated influenced by seller handling times.

Set your handling time to 5 business days and mention in your description that you typically/generally ship within 2 days.

This might just blow out the estimated delivery date enough for your items to arrive within the estimate.

As slr says, increase your handling time, your listings show an ETA for me in regional WA as next wednesday, which would be a miracle if it happened.

We set our hadling time to 3-days a couple of years back and rarely ever get complaints of late deliveries.

Never any late delivery points.

And ours are all untracked letters too.

But we still send out on the same day payment clears if we can do it.

Yes times are getting slower for ordinary post. Deliberate policy of Auspost.

For lower value items that can fit in an envelope, I now pay the extra for priority delivery.

My handling time is given as 5 days to help with the estimated delivery for all my items.

Interesting point.

I often get feedback, which would normally equate to receipt, within 4 business days of the sale. My handling time is 3 days and I usually post next day, so that's 3 days transit. Well within AP's 2-6 day quote.

Maybe that's just me, but I don't pay extra for 'priority'.

I recently posted an ordinary letter to another Melbourne suburb at 2.30pm Sunday, and it arrived before noon on Monday.

Shocking.

Over the years I certainly haven't noticed a fall off in AP's delivery times.

I bought 3 separate items on Monday evening. I received one today, one is supposed to be at my PO tomorrow, and the other one isn't due until next Tuesday. None are local, but I do live in a regional centre, apparently.

It sounds exactly like the problem I was having. It turned out it was caused by my return address labels.

I have found AP delivery times terrible. Often when checking tracking, there is a โ€œrevisedโ€ update from โ€œon timeโ€. Often the deliveries are outside the AP estimates but as usual when you contact AP, they simply say delivery times are estimates and I should use Express Post if I want the item delivered urgently. Um no, I donโ€™t want the item delivered urgently, I want it delivered on time.

Last month, not only did AP lose a parcel, but when I sent a replacement Express Post to arrive the โ€œguaranteedโ€ next day delivery, they couldnโ€™t even get that right!
