Sold and request refund: Microsoft Office CD with CD-Key

Dear everyone,

I have sold a packages of Microsoft Office which the package contains both CD & CD-Key. My client has made a request that want to refund the item as the reason of "counterfeit product - just because it is shipped from China". I did explain my product is not counterfeit but he/she doesn't really care and just want to refund "

"He/She saw the postage packaging was shipped from China and if they believe it is the counterfeit product so why they also opened the item packaging"?  The problem is here: "He/She have the CD-Key now and the CD-Key only can activate for one computer/laptop and I can not check whether the CD-Key has activate or not, what if they already activated the CD-key and refund to me?.

What can I do in this case?, I sold the similar items to many many many people and no one ever complainted or requested refund, Need some help here.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Best regard

looks to me that in your listing you are telling buyers your items are located in australia.

why are they shipping from china?

i think any problems you get you deserve, your being deceptive.

you'll end up with heaps of negatives. im my opinion.

you should be importing from a genuine microsoft wholesaler, then listing the items from your home/business.

Whoa!

I would have to say too that if I had purchased a product such as this that said it was located in Australia then when it turned up it had been mailed form China (not South Australia) I would be highly suspicious of it too. Smacks of fake to me.

It's definitely against ebay policy to misrepresent an item location.

I'd have to agree with the other posters.

If I was purchasing a new Microsoft item that I thought was being sent from here, I'd be somewhat confident that the item was genuine.

However, if it arrived from China, I too would be suspicious!

Does Microsoft even manufacture any of their products in China?

They probably do. Every other tech company in the West does, so why would Microsoft be different?

I can't comment further as I use Open Office. Same functionality, no cost. Except my periodic donation, but that is MY choice.

Microsoft only manufacture certain software in certain countries.

I think genuine Office is Made in Puerto Rico and fake show Made in USA.

I am surprised OP has items listed as MS usually have eBay remove all non distributor listings.

not really important weather the items are genuine although the OP would want to be very sure they are as microsoft are a company who take people ripping them off with no sense of humor. OP could be getting a visit from police.

not really a good idea to come to a public forum complaining about buyers not liking that your items might be fake, if it turns out they are. waving a flag with 'hey look at me' on it comes to mind.

no, the answer to the OP question is, your being deceptive by saying the items are in australia when obviously thay are not. your buyer is completely in his rights to complain, and open the package to see what he recieved. may not have realised it was from china until after he opened it.

OP must hope the item is genuine cos someone will contact microsoft if they are not.

Given the circumstances, and the fact you could land yourself deep in doo doo, I'd be getting the buyer to return it at your expense and giving them a refund. Have a negative saying your items are fake is going to hurt your sales more than having to refund a buyer on an item that there is a high chance is a fake. If you are deceptive in your listings and dropshipping your items from China, you have no way of knowing if they are fake or not because you've never laid eyes on them.

I would also update your listings to say that the items will be dropshipped from China. If you don't, buyers are going to end up getting upset and you'll end up getting your selling account suspended permanently.

Edit: You've got feedback for 6 items. I wouldn't say that was selling them to many many many others.
