This was delivered 5 minutes ago.
Bright red box with Ebay all over it.
Open it up to find 6 rolls of tape.
The message basically says that Ebay are creating a range of packaging, (boxes, tape) and they are sharing the first round with sellers.
Seriosuly, as if I'm going to send something off with Ebay all over it - in my opinion it's just something that would attract the eye of thieves.

Thanks Ebay!!!
For refunding 0.01% of the fees I've paid in the last year in the form of 6 rolls of tape.
Yeah...... thanks....

Weren't you ever told not to look a gift horse in the mouth?

@cushioncovers wrote:the box is bright red! Not like the Aus Post boxes which are plain and fairly non-descript. It's a lot easier to spot a bright red box left on someone's porch than a plain white one.
I must admit, having seen the boxes now, I can't help but think they look pretty garish in comparison to the designs available in the US.
eBay's Official AU store (pointed out to me by another seller on FB 🙂 ) http://stores.ebay.com.au/eBayAustraliaShippingSupplies?_trksid=p2047675.l2563
Safe or inviting trouble and/or grabbing the attention of theives or not, those boxes wrapped in that tape.... Not really appealing to me as a seller, at any rate

I am not sure that as a buyer I would want those boxes turning up on my doorstep.
I prefer not to differentiate between my ebay parcels and others that I get.....anonymity is safer in my book.

This one reminds me of a fast food burger box
If you need to double box when packaging though might work for some sellers

Yes, I like my anonymity too.
Where or how I buy my online stuff is none of anyone elses business.
And I do believe they are more at risk of theft as they scream "consumer goods" rather than a plain box which could be anything.

Lol, maybe I'll buy something from their store just to see if they message "you want fries with that?"
Just on the subject of packaging, and a possible note to eBay if they're reading this thread for feedback on their new venture...
If someone would make a generic poly satchel with a clear, attached A5 document window (like the AP 500g satchels, just without all the branding and writing everywhere), I would be so happy.

Hello all,
Quite some time ago there was talk of ebay bringing out its own brand of packaging and tape with 'ebay' written all over it. I remember reading the forum thread and the general consensus was that people didn't want packing that stood out and shouted 'online goods' etc.
In the past year I received an invitation to be part of a ebay survey group, which I accepted, and only filled in one survey and haven't heard anything since, this survey was about branded packaging, tape etc.... When filling in the survey I remembered the general feeling I got from the forums on this issue (which I agree with), and selected all options that basically said no to ebay branded mailing boxes, (plain coloured or discrete logos would be fine). I then forgot all about it until I read this thread. So it would seem that either ebay don't listen to their survey participants or my opinion was in a minority.
.......And I haven't received any freebies!!! lol! As others have already noted I could still put the boxes and tape to good use if I felt they were too garish to send through the post. I use plenty of tape for waterproofing items and sturdy boxes never go-a-miss in this household, ebay are you listening? Probably not.
Cheers 🙂

Just this morning we received 2 boxes of tape, 36 rolls.
We do not use tape as all out stuff goes out by large letter.
Any parcels go by satchel.
Anybody need some tape? LOL
