Stamps some were slightly Marked and AP picked it up Can i go to seller as Item Not Discribed

Just received a letter today stating the stamps I used were not valid for postage. The stamps I purchased were Un franked No Gum. I used them for postage as we all do. Where do I stand? Where does the seller stand that sold them to me? Who is responsible for the fine.  The seller of the original List did state unfranked cheap postage contact Me. AP stated the stamps have been canceled. I bought the stamps in good faith thinking Cheap Postage.. I now have to outlay the original 70 Cents plus $4.90 Admin. costs and delivery fees Total $5.60 ??????????????????? Can I pass this to the seller of the stamps?. In my work Place There is a chain Of Responsibility

"Stamps some were slightly Marked and AP picked it up Can i go to seller as Item Not Discribed"

You state this so you must have known they were slightly marked but still used to to post an item with ? Then I guess the fault lies with you as you should have contacted the seller after you received them to let them know they were marked ?

Not much you can do but pay the fine IMO

"used them for postage as we all do"

I think you will find we don't all do that!

We re-use cartons and bubble wrap if they are clean but I have never heard of someone re-using stamps.

Were they loose stamps or in a sheet/booklet? Do you have the item number of the listing so we can have a look at it?

Even if you are still within the 45 days to start a dispute in paypal you could not win it.  To get a refund for an Item Not As Described you would have to send them back with tracking in the condition they were in when you received them.

As you have used some of them you cannot return them in that condition.

Surely you noticed that they were marked before using them....you would have had to look fairly closely at them if you had to put glue on them.

I could be wrong here, but I seem to remember an article saying that AP were using UV sensitive dyes in their franking process, perhaps if that's true then the stamps were picked up that way.

Having said that, I received a parcel a few weeks ago that had about 20 stamps which I presumed were "recycled"   LOL

Luckily a mate of mine collects stamps...........there were some nice ones on there...........

I use new stamps.

I have received parcels with 'old' style stamps.

Do you charge the buyer less than current postage stamp costs when using cheaper old stamps?

no we do not all do that, it is mail fraud and Australia Post have actually over the years prosecuted, so beware.

once and you may get away with it, but generally speaking, stamps without gum are NOT cheap postage, they are washed stamps,

used once already.

there is no real reason for a stamp to have no gum unless it has been washed

as to what to do about your seller?  too late now to say 'not as described' as you have used them.

expensive lesson to learn, but if you get caught again by aust post, they  / can / and have.. raid your premises and press charges
