Hi,
I been on here a few months now selling collectables and car parts, My sales are and i will be honest are pretty poor, Ive sold some good items and have made some money here and there, I always have atleat 2 photo's of my items, i do my research on prices, I try to set fair prices, i find if its a low price i only get 1 or 2 bids and i end up selling way below its worth, Im getting sick of paying $50\60 a month on fee's and not seeing alot of return on my money,
Has any 1 got any surgestions on boosting sales, Cheers in advance.

I am far from being an expert, but try putting as much info as you can in the description. Keywords to attract attention, use all of the space you can. One of my keywords is always 'value' so use whatever you can to make the listing stand out

Hi, i just had a quick look at your listings and the 1st thing that I see is fairly high postage charges.
eg There is a pack of cards that I would have thought could go in a small padded bag with stamps on it for maybe $1.80 or $3.00 depending on their weight.
Also you have lots more space for more description on your titles, brand names, year of the product etc etc.
Plus maybe more info in the actual description as well

Yeah, I used to $6 postage thinking that would be fine, But then i'd go post it and it would cost me $8\9 dolla's so im loosing out, Postage i find is so hard , it seem different every time, If i send to Perth it ends up costing me a fortune,

yes postage is hard and I have been caught out too with costing extra.
I weigh all mine and if it fits through the letter box slot which is 2cm and under 500 grams I put stamps on it and put into the red letter box.

As said above, try to maximise your postage charges. I just looked at Australux fuse tin vintage and you could probaby post them for $6.60 (minus the cost for the packaging) if they weigh less than 500g. You might even be able to post them for $3.00 if they can be packaged up nice and flat, under 20mm thick.
Go to Australia Post and ask about ways to package things. Bring a few small things along and see what you can do. Check out their packaging products too.

Yeah i sorta went on the reasoning that postage is a variable for me, If it costs $9 for 1 item and $7 for another and collected $16 for 2 items in postage, that cancels each other out, I think the issue is postage, when i can buy something from HongKong for $3 including postage, Dont know how they do free postage there.

I agree. Australia must have the dearest postage rates in the world, and they must be collecting huge revenue from online shopping. Not many people would post anything anymore with emails, facebook etc
I have stopped listing some heavy books as they can cost fom $12.00+ to post them. Who wants to buy a $5.00ish book and then pay $12.00+ postage

you need to put more into your descriptions, for example with the Ghia switch, you don't say what models it fits.
IMO a one line description gives me the impression you don't really care

As it looks like you're selling collectibles, I'd have to agree with more photos and a more detailed description. Collectors tend to like to know exactly what they'll be buying with perhaps finite detail - close-ups of any damage, as well as describing them, plus any other information you can provide would probably help (it doesn't have to be relevant to the item's condition, but will help show you know "your stuff", so to speak, which is a confidence thing).
