HI,

IF ITEM IS UNDER 2CM THICK LIKE A DVD, SEND IT IN A PADDED ENVELOPE AND USE THE FOLLOWING AMOUNT OF STAMPS BASED ON WEIGHT, NO HEAVIER THAN 500G. LETTER GO UP TO PRETTY LARGE SIZES SO SMALL BOOKS CAN BE SENT OR SMALL JEWELERY ETC.

Large letters
A large letter is:
โ€ข rectangular in shape
โ€ข no heavier than 500g
โ€ข no larger than 260mm x 360mm
โ€ข no thicker than 20mm

UP TO 125g 2 X 70C STAMPS

UP TO 250g 3 X 70C STAMPS

UP TO 500g 5 X 70C STAMPS

TO MAKE IT CHEAPER U CAN BUY THE NORMAL ENVELOPES DEPENDING ON SIZE THAN WRAP DVD OR ITEM IN BUBBLE WRAP AND PLACE INSIDE ENVELOPE, CHEAPER THAN PADDED EVELOPES AND EXACTLY THE SAME THING.

CHEERS.

Only problem with sending items this way is the increase in items that go missing because of lack of tracking.

this is the other problem with Ebay in that Paypal pay 100% of claims in favour of buyers if you do not supply a tracking number.

Small items of low value really are not worth selling nowadays as the odds are stacked so heavily against sellers.

40% of my sales go by large letter. Haven't had one go AWOL yet.

If one does I will refund. It is not worth it to me to charge or pay for registered when my prices are determined to a large extent by what others charge.

You are lucky Dave. 20 % of items I post without tracking go missing. I have given up sending that way now as it is just not worth the low DSR and negatives that come from it. The items I sell in that area are unique and non replaceable so why pay for the priviledge of being ripped off.

With the additional cost of postage rip off it will just mean I list less items now.

I tried Fastway and in their first ten deliveries around Adelaide only 4 were delivered without time problems including one that took nine days to be delivered 25 kilometres away from me.

And Paypal giving a refund four days after an item was delivered.

Surely I am not the only one suffering here. .

A) Sell more expensive items.

B) Save 30% on stamps by buying older mint Australian decimal stamps, which are available from myself and other dealers.

Thanks for your honesty, am very new to ebay and seem to hit brick walls. Trying to find our niche which naturally is closely guarded by those experienced, as you've pointed out there's no point in low cost items, particularly with the cost of postage. I really appreciate the advice it has helped!
