Disgruntled and unhappy with the new Defective Defect System ?
Could it effect you ? If you haven't realised yet, yes it can effect ALL Sellers

In my opinion, the only possible way to be heard by Ebay and to see any change is if we stand together and support each other in huge numbers !
If we do nothing - nothing changes !

G'day Dave ....
Yeah .... I know. I've had the same phenomenon. We all agree that ebay has the user base. But is this rationalisation to the "Retailer's Friend" going to mean it will keep it? If ebay want every item sold to be a new item, doesn't that change the marketplace? Doesn't that leave buyers reverting more to search engines? Especially those looking for the NOS item, the quirky, that spare part? Doesn't that put us back to square one ...1999?
People still flock to markets all over the country every weekend in their 1000's so the market still exists, even if ebay turns it's back on it.
Sure, they can use Gumtree .... but I find that only works in my local geographic ..... and has a lot of "cancellations"....
The other platform ......traffic is slow, it doesn't suit all product lines & public awareness is almost non-existant.
But the point I guess I'm trying to make is that after all these years & 3 different owners, messed up marketing plans & direction ......
it's still there for sellers to access & try to build to build something with ...... FOR FREE !!!!!
No unfair feedback system, no forced shipping or return programs, no search engine manipulation, no interference ... all the things that sellers sceam for on here are just sitting there, waiting for them to use.
Of course, you have to have the stock/items ....... & sure, it will be slow , hard going .... but then so was/is ebay. I guess it's all part of the "instant" attitude that seems to prevail these days. List it one day, expect it sold the next. That's certainly what ebay promotes .... but doesn't always deliver. But we put up with that & even pay for the privilege.
ebay has been flagging these defective changes for months now, along with 90 day returns, 100% Money Back Guarantee, Free Return Postage & Buyer Cancellation Policies. And it is all to be worn by the seller.
I have to wonder what the outcome would be now if over the last 18 months, everytime ebay punished sellers more, if those sellers had worked a little harder & more thoughtfully over there, if others had embraced it instead of villifying it, would some have a more viable marketplace exist stategy?
It was interesting to note in ebay's 15 birthday propaganda they anounced that Toowoomba (130k W of Bne. Pop 170,000 Aprx)
is the most active user base in Australia, and buyers from the NT spend the most money per item.
And they tell me there is no need for a site to service rural Australia ...... sigh .....
For the want of a nail ........
