Thank you

Many thanks to the ebay member who gave advise about using Ad Block to get rid of all those painful ads that keep popping up and interfering with our time while we are trying to be constructive on our computers. So much better.
Have a good one to you all.

Lynne, Several things you can do.

Switching to chrome as a browser means less ads and problems.

Download ad blocker. (Chrome ad blocker can be googled)

Delete cookies and temp internet files, then restart computer.

If you still get pop ups, you may have an adware virus and need to run anti virus if you have it.

Otherwise restore the computer to an earlier point to be rid of the virus. (Not guaranteed)

Good on you Jan for expression your gratitude, I am sure the member will see it at some stage and appreciate it.

As mentioned, download Google Chrome. If you currently use Internet Explorer, go to the Google search page and there will be a link up in the top right somewhere to download Chrome. Once you've installed it, up the top right are 3 horizontal lines, Click on that, then click on 'more tools', then select extensions. On the page that opens, there should be a link to 'get more extensions'. Clicking on that takes you straight to the extension download site.

When there, search for "adblock". There will be multiple versions appear, which I think are all much of a muchness. I have AdBlock pro, but AdBlock Plus is just as good (actually, I think I may have both now!). Once you have located it in the seach, click on it then click up the top of the pop up window where it says +Free. That will install it on your computer. Once it's installed, you will see a stop sign either at the right of your address bar or just outside the address bar.

I just noticed there is a newer version called AdBlock Super. I'd probably install that one.

Be warned, there are extension for absolutely everything! It's like getting on YouTube. You go to look at one thing and then find yourself still there 3 hours later. It's easy to get carried away looking at them all!

We use five browsers and have the adblock plus extension installed on all of them. It works very well.

Ad Block Plus is good, but during last weekend's listings, I found that it didn't prevent a very annoying pop-up each time I began a listing via "Sell Similiar" - when the new page opened and I began to type the listing title, a pop-up appeared from the "Condition" field  telling me what "Good" meant.

The pop-up had around ten different elements which had to be manually blocked, one by one. Next day, the pop-up appeared again - this time the blocks didn't hold, and it came up with every listing I created. Annoying!
