I think I have just had my first echeque.
buyer initiated payment on the 13th November.
I had the little hourglass symbol there and when I hovered over it said being processed through paypal, and gave me an expected clearance date of 18th. Had a look in PayPal and it said something like payment pending...
It has just cleared a few minutes ago, so now I have the solid dollar sign indicating item is paid for and it tells me I have to post it.
But when I mouse over the dollar sign, it says payment was made on the 13th.
So even if I post it today, it will still look like it took me 7 days to post it.
I hope thatmy postage time DSR's don't get dinged!
Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

I've always wondered why eBay haven't introduced an auto-5 star rating for postage time that is reliant on lodgement time (there was mention of auto-5's some time ago, but for some unknown reason it involved delivery time, not postage time - i.e. it was granted if the buyer received their item within a certain time frame o_O), but I can't see how it would be too hard to implement an auto-5 if a parcel was scanned as lodged within the seller's stated handling time after payment, even if it was conditional on a couple of other parameters (not free post or anything like that, more like electronic payment methods were used to ascertain exact payment / clearance date).

"As for echeques I cannot understand why sellers object to them so much" Easy try waiting up to 2 weeks for them to clear, and then they don't . Add another 8 days on top of that time already wasted to get your FVF back and relist. Very risky to post before they clear, while its only a small percentage that don't clear it certainly happens.
Profanity is no substitute for wit.

I agree, grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Yesterday I had a buyer buy 2 items & paid by e-cheque, now today the buyer has bought another item & paid by Paypal straight away.
I have sent them an email asking whether they want me to send the newer purchase with the other purchases at a reduced postage.
I can't understand why they did an e-cheque first - especially when I ask buyers NOT to use an e-cheque. I've already warned the buyer that the e-cheque will delay posting of the items.
