I'm not an eBay seller, but I thought some of you may find this interesting about how stuff can be shipped from China so cheaply. Basically, the local postal system is subsidising it.

It's not exactly new.
It's called the Universal Postage Union and it recently had it 145th birthday.

One dodgy USB stick at a time? Or, like the US did for the past hundred years or so, and are still doing (and absolutely not through admirable nor ethical means)?
-_- This is called propaganda, ya know?
You say that like this is some evil plot they've had all along, which ignores that China was a developing country that is becoming a super power in part because Western countries wanted to get richer and they (China) embraced capitalism as a response - maybe a certain amount of criticism should be reserved for the countries (hint: one of them is ours) that exploit the resources and people in developing countries in order to force them to bear the brunt of what would otherwise damage and / or be a drain to our own resources.

Lol, well... that proves it then. Some random businessman giving an interview speaks for the entire country of China, and their political intentions / aspirations. Because, there couldn't possibly be further context to that, could there? Like, if Jeff Bezos said "Amazon wants to dominate the planet", you'd of course immediately think he wants to be the reigning emperor of earth, and not that he means he wants his business to be #1 in every country with money to spend so he can continue sailing around the world on $400 million yachts while cutting health benefits to employees.
Hope my old "my ultimate goal is world domination, mwuahahahah" statements don't come back to haunt me one day.

Given the extent of the reach of the Chinese Communist Party in all walks of Chinese life, if the businessman isn't in gaol, it is reasonable to assume he was parroting revealing the party line.
I, too, hope your statements don't come back to haunt all of us.
Thank the imaginary friend of choice for climate change. In less than 50 years the human race will be decimated and what people are left will have better things to concentrate on than politics or world domination. They will be trying to find enough food and shelter to survive.

The Chinese government, and many of their actions are concerning, to be sure - but so is reducing the situation to a single tag line of "they're taking over the world".

Unfortunately the Chinese government has been lending Nations funds for decades knowing they cannot pay it back and ransoming key locations for military use under the guise of helping the locals.
The above information is from Chinese people I know and it's only scratching the surface.
It would be nice if we all curbed our spending, buying local instead.

A bleak view but probably true unfortunately. Thank goodness I will be dead.
