Yes, hard to believe that I could make a mistake, but no one is purrfect 😉
Sent one of my most popular items to a buyer on Friday - as soon as paid as is my habit.
Safely packaged in a 3kg eBay satchel, popped into box on the way home Friday.
Just popped into my head this morning, I used the wrong code for click and send didn't I ?? I used the code for a 500g satchel.

OOOps actually, i was wrong, i just processed some satchels and the labels do say 3kg. Still if you contact them and pay the correct cost that should avoid any problems for the buyer, but do let them know as well.

If it makes you feel any better, I've sent the wrong things to the wrong people, sent the wrong amount to the right people, sent clothes without all their accessories (like belts, sashes etc), consistently waste packaging by stuffing up the addresses (I'm sitting there, looking at the address, writing them out by hand, yet my head decides to think about something else and suddenly I've addressed a package to [what's going on in my head] instead of where it's meant to go), sent earrings without their backings, then realised the error, popped a few in the mail to the buyer and let them know they're on the way, only to find out I sent them with backings in the first place....
Should I go on? 😛

I recently had a parcel arrive that had incorrect postage , seller tried to send it as a letter rate item but it was over 20mm thick. Someone at the PO had slapped a sticker on the parcel requesting the additional postage amount .
However because the Senders address was on the back of the parcel the PO lady said they ( sender) should be charged not the receiver and that the sticker should not have been applied. She waived the amount owing.
I was always under the impression that the sender paid for the wrong/additional costs not the receiver 'unless' there was no sender details.

my best was I went to the local business centre to send a parcel, paid express etc and tracking, the next morning it was delivered, yep, to me, the PO had looked at the wrong address, I quickly marched down there and asked, why would I send it to my self, it finally got to the customer only to find it had been damaged in transit, she sent it back and I replaced it.

l've got one for you - last week l were at the post office, standing in line. The lady in front of me was handed a satchel by the postie. She stared at it and burst out laughing.
It was hers...her 'sender' name was on the back.
On the front? Nothing. Blank address. She'd not written anything on it and just dropped it in a red posting box.
We did have a bit of a quip with postie about what happened to the motto 'Australia Post - We deliver'.....so how come they didn't deliver that one!
