The new store design is horrendous

I get that they're trying to imitate that other site, but they've done it in the worst possible way. I went to the trouble of making categories for my store so that people could easily find my items, but now these are buried in a drop-down box (with only the first category visible), there seems to be no way to sort items from the initial store page as before (please correct me if I'm wrong), my store description, which contains important information about updates, etc has been shoved over to the right-hand side, and all of my images look like they were cropped by the 3 year old next door and have a not-at-all-appealing grey tint.

Quite obviously, the people on the eBay ad are ACTUALLY the people who designed it, except that in addition to noise-cancelling headphones they are also wearing eye masks and cannot see how hideous and terrible it is.

Agree 200% - All listed items do not show in the drop down category search either so safe to assume costly to sellers

Have you clicked on 'Do You Like our Store Experience?' at bottom of page....they have got to be joking!!

They do not reveal the results though (how many thumbs up and how many thumbs down) - probably for a reason!

Re: The new store design is horrendous

I personally think its great,  I like how my store looks now.

I guess whenever Ebay make a change, everyone on these forums have a good complain,  I think because they just don't like change.

Yes I know we all get used to one way of doing something, look outside the box, and think forward rather then backward.

Before anyone asks, no I am not paid by Ebay.

I'm glad someone likes it, but that's a pretty shallow take right thar.

I was meh with new store design when they first introduced it but upgraded to it anyway well before there was no choice, and have taken to changes that were useful or beneficial immediately, or at least didn't impede anything. You may not work for eBay, but being immediately dismissive of complaint with what amounts to "hater's gonna hate *shrug*" is just the kind of attitude they'd be looking for in an employee, lol.

Some buyers do not want to be taken out of the shop they are browsing and directly to site-wide search instead, when they look for a specific item in a store. I mean, if you had a website, would you provide search results for your store for the first one but make it so that any continued search for the items you sell was a regular ol' google search? This would be extremely frustrating for buyers looking to purchase from a single seller.

Edited to add - what I am basically saying is the look is fine, the function is not.

Can you please elaborate? Which functions do you like?

I'm fine with changes on this site (I've been here for many years) but as Digi said, it isn't good UI design. The previous design was clean and functional, and now they're hiding functions (eg: categories and sorting options) and it just isn't helpful for anyone.

Like Digi said, eBay's loss is a gain elsewhere because my other platform is suddenly doing better.

Also - the thumbs up/thumbs down survey is very ambiguously worded. One of the questions is something akin to, "what do you think of this seller/store?" The survey is supposed to be about the new store design so why are they asking the user to rate ME? I didn't design this monstrosity.
