Unbelievable.
Buyer claims minor damage in post wants 50% refund to avoid paypal claim and states it in message in black and white it's a lie but i give it anyway then buyer goes ahead and still files claim for snad after receiving requested refund and leaves neg feedback "Absolutely terrible. I have put in a paypal claim. Do not buy from this person!" Clearly a scammer or competitior and they won't remove it. "Unfortunately, the Feedback you've received doesn't meet our criteria for removal." Everything i've read anywhere online says you just cannot mention a paypal case in feedback. This is absurd what hope do sellers have. My account is low volume it puts me down to 85.7%. i wouldn't buy off someone with 85.7%. Unba Fing leavable.

Assisted extortion is what it is.

Grandad I would buy from you. If someone has negative feedback I always read it, then judge for myself and although you have negative, you have much more very positive feedback. It's like the old saying "you can't please all the people all of the time" and some are never happy no matter what you do.
I'm not sure what the ruling is about others not posting about paypal disputes in their feedback as I've seen it in feedback before.

Thanks Cassie. They're saying it doesn't state the outcome of a case so it's ok but that's not what the policy says it says "makes reference to". Thanks for noticing my legitimate feedback i've lost money on deals to help people out and bend over backwards it's just infuriating when someone can wreck everything in one go. now the buyer has the goods, 50% of his money back and a SnAd case open in paypal. I'm getting shafted big time i can see myself losing 150% of the money and the goods and my account integrity. unfortunately a lot of people probably would be put off and won't look at the big picture. I'm very low volume and don't participate in discussions but i read a lot and like many sellers i'm beside myself with disbelief at what Ebay has become and almost seems to encourage...who can rip off who first in the most clever fashion.! Enough venting i guess i'll work around it thank God i have another account.

If you refunded the 50% through paypal you cannot possibly lose 150% as paypal will only refund the remaining amount, not the whole amount all over again.

Did you talk to eBay over the phone on this one?
If you did then I would suggest you phone them again and ask to speak to a supervisor, and explain to them that the feedback clearly breaches their own policy of mentioning PayPal disputes in feedback.
Also get them to read the email demanding a part-refund, and explain that you freely gave that refund before the feedback was posted.
Hope it works out for you.
Hi Lyndal, slow typing for me as usual......sigh

Thanks Lyndal i hope that is the case but the automated message has the amount in dispute as the full amount even though there is a 50% refund recorded against the transaction in both Ebay and paypal. i hope they're not that inefficient that it's not picked up in the final analysis i was just feeling like everything was ridiculous and even that would happen. oddly it says they've frozen the money and debited my account but there is no negative balance or bite back to my bank.
I did ring them Padi and got a guy who said he couldn't give me an answer over the phone i'd have to wait for an email in a few hours. i had a feeling by his tone it was going to be no. I don't feel like ringing back will do anything but i'll try thanks.

Phillipines call centre left me on hold for 10 minutes of silence while she went looking for a supervisor. Then offered me a callback i have no reception at home said i'm happy to wait. Waited another 5 minutes gave up called back again
Exact same 10 minutes on hold this time with music. Came back. I'm transferring you now. line rang and then went beep beep beep. disconnected. Finally got onto a supervisor. Same story. Doesn't talk about the outcome of case. Wouldn't listen that the guidelines say "makes reference to".
The thing is why should i have to be nearly crying on the phone for another wasted half hour or so when he could do it at the pus
of abutton when it's black and white scammer doing me over. i've had enough.
They're the same as every Phillipines call centre: polite parrots who do nothing that isn't scripted.
I won't have time to come back to this thread but let it be a warning to other sellers. A small time honest bloke moving a few knick knacks out of the shed can be completely shafted and Ebay will do zero. it's a waste of time building up any sort of reputation on one account you need to have 7 accounts rolling until some scammer burns them on you.

If you manage to successfully defend the INAD claim (I don't know what your chances of that are, since a partial refund was issued), the feedback could qualify for removal. By all rights, at least according to eBay's own information as you know, the comment should be removed, but that doesn't always result in the dot itself being removed (9/10 it will these days, though), whereas winning the case would most likely see everything - dot and comment - gone.
Failing that, the only other option is obtaining a court order, and I have absolutely no idea how to go about getting one, unfortunately (aside from starting with a lawyer consult).

Thanks mate i'll see how that goes.
Check this out.
' I am requesting 50% of what I paid back.
Please confirm so we can avoid a paypal dispute"
And it was paid........Then opens case as well......
What choice did i have but to pay it that's a demand and a threat nicely disguised as a request. Open slather for extortionists to romp as they please and we can't even do anything but **bleep** in here.
