Just evaluating whether to offer free postage to comply with the new rating standards, which would mean I would need to increase my prices, as a $8 profit loss to cover postage is not viable.
Is it legal to increase the price of a product, if you have buyers watching your item at one price, and then the price increases, isnt that misleading??
Any comments appreciated

If you have free postage then the price of the item needs to include the cost of the postage AND the portion of fees that go to ebay from the "free" postage that is not free at all.

Most of my listings will remain with separate postage listed. Since most of my buyers buy more than 1 item at a time, offering free post (which is really post cost included) means I would spend forever making refunds or even worse, scare my buyers overseas.

Why are worry about the ratings?
Of course, no such thing as free postage. If you are a smart seller all the costs are included, the item, packing and postage, all fees. Need to make a profit. Thats what we are hear for, not the ratings.

Not worried about the ratings, just want to make sure I can compete with the bigger sellers

I quote 'free' post for items that can go as a letter. This only cost me an extra 15c, so I consider it worth it. Plus it is generally not economic to combine post for those items. Three would still be a parcel, at $7 odd vs $4.50 separate.
Everything that goes as a parcel has postage quoted separately.
I will never be TRS+, though. Aside from the other conditions, I won't offer 30 day returns. I sell books, I'm not a library.
