Tracking Number Help Required, thank you!

Hello All

If I upload the tracking number for a sold item, on the Ebay site in My Ebay Items Sold List, the number being taken from a Prepaid Satchel (NOT click & send) - ordinary BLUE satchel from Australia Post, prepaid, then afterwards mark the item as posted, does the customer get that tracking number in that email or not, does anyone know?

Or would it be best to advise the customer of the tracking number in a separate email?

Thank you in advance & best regards

Janet

It should show on the buyers won item, however, nothing wrong with sending them a message as well if you like.

Janet, just hope the item wasn't expensive as no protection for sellers if the buyer used Paypal.

Re: Tracking Number Help Required, thank you!

I only use the Pack and Track Australia Post satchels and I upload the tracking number which automatically marks the item as posted.  Yes, the buyer does receive the tracking number as I have received queries on item location when AP goes off the beaten track in delivery.

Re: Tracking Number Help Required, thank you!

Why do you use ordinary satchels instead of C&S? the click & send ones are cheaper and have Paypal protection which the ordinary satchels don't, those tracking numbers only show delivery to the nearest mail centre, not the buyer's address.

Also if you use click & send the tracking number is entered automatically.

Re: Tracking Number Help Required, thank you!

Thank you everyone, you're replies have helped alot.

And phorum_junkie* I know what you're saying - I just don't have any Click and Send satchels in stock for one particular purchase that is  >500 grams as the majority of my sales are 500gms & under, have been using C & S  500 grams successfully as you suggested.

But recent buyer bought 2 items in the one purchase, weighing well over  >500grams in total, so I just have decided to buy 3kg Prepaid Satchel for this particular purchase.

Might have to look into stocking C & S satchels >500grams if more weightier purchases are going to be the norm.

Cheers, thank you again!

Re: Tracking Number Help Required, thank you!

I buy 3kg satchels in 20 packs, which is about a year's supply, but for $4.20 I can handle the expense.

I probably use more B1 boxes, but I buy them singly from my PO down the road. The box works out about $2.50 cheaper than a 3kg satchel if the item/s fit in it.
