I sold a CD to abuyer based overseas who gave me a postal address in Australia (my Country). I posted the CD via Australia Post Small Business and provided a tracking number. The buyer has complained that eBay shows that the item has not been shipped or delivered, However Australia Post tracking shows that it was delivered on 10th May. Why would eBay not be up to date with the tracking?

Some buyers just try their luck, but have you checked what the tracking says when you click on the tracking number from within the transaction, or have you only checked on the Aus Post website?

Can you screenshot the actual delivery status - on the Aust Post website.
This will help if an INR is opened.
eBay cannot even correctly list the means of sending - let alone arriving.

Thanks, I have already done that

It just occurred to me that perhaps eBay would only show tracking if I had bought a shipping label from eBay. I normally buy my labels from the Australia Post Small Business site because it is cheaper than eBay. I then enter the tracking number on eBay.

I enter the tracking numbers manually as I lodge over the counter and most of the time the tracking shows ok, but there are definitely moments when it is delayed.
I also have an Aus Post Bus Account and the discounts are pretty good for overseas postage, especially on the higher bands.

So do I - and post over the counter - then enter the tracking when marking ' sent '.
Not had any problems as I just check the AP site - or feedback tells you it has arrived.

I (as a buyer) always check the real website, whether it is AusPost or another courier... Because even if the tracking on eBay is delayed by only a few hours (sometimes it is even delayed by a couple of days), I could miss that a parcel is onboard for delivery for example. There are even items in my purchase history that never updated to the delivered status, even if they were delivered a long time ago and the AusPost tracking shows them as delivered too, so it is not that the delivery driver did not scan them as delivered...

Just to complicate things, the address the buyer gaves me was Australian (Coolaroo, Vic.) but it was preceded by a code M00113585. As Australia Post didn't recognize the address with that code in front of it I simply mailed it to the Australian address minus the code. Looking at the address to which an eBay label would have sent the CD I found that te label would have shown an adress in the US. I am wondering if the code refers to some sort of forwarding process.
