Hi Everyone
On a New ID Which I only opened about 6 weeks ago I listed 4 new items for auction using Turbo Lister, 1 Item came up with the warning with "Funds will be with held" and the other 3 no warnings. Does that meam if the other 3 sell I will have instant Access to those funds? The other ID has just been upgraded to 100 Listings Per Month and I have just opened a store I dont know if that matters or not. Just very interested to know.
Thank You
Gayle

I wouldn't count on it. I opened a new ID in March, my funds were held on all sales on that ID regardless of whether I got the warning message when listing. Sometimes I got a warning, sometimes I didn't, and it was the same whether I listed with TL or Sell an Item. I wasn't too concerned as I didn't really need the money instantly, but I must admit after six weeks I felt they had been holding my funds long enough and I emailed Paypal requesting they lift the hold and urged them to check my long and spotless history with them. Within 24 hrs they had lifted the hold on all funds, although eBay have been slow to catch up, my earlier sales still show dates funds will be available, even though the funds have actually been released.

It is ludicrous that they think they have the right to hold YOUR money!
Paypal will usually release the funds because it would cost them more to fight their corner but what makes you think that they have no right to hold your money when you have agreed to them doing it?

Just saying it's ridiculous, not to mention the interest scam Paypal make from the 21 day hold, they would be raking it in! My funds aren't held luckily. I just don't see why they need to hold someone's money for that long. You sell an item, you expect to be paid before you post it. By Paypal holding the funds for 21 days that is not "having" received payment, regardless that the buyer has sent the payment, the seller doesn't have it, Paypal does! I can understand if they held funds until tracking shows an item has been lodged over the counter at the PO/or the item has been delivered, but 21 days is ridiculous!

I phoned Paypal last night because of them holding funds on another ID I told them that if they hold funds they should be paying interest to the account holder. I then told them I would be contacting the Financial Ombudsman and they said they would release the funds straight away. I also told them that if any of my funds are with held again I will not even bother contacting them and they said Dont worry it will not happen to your account again as you have been with us for 10 years..Will wait and see. The funds that were released last night had no tracking just large stamped letters.
