Removal of US Aviation Surcharge

The US Aviation surcharge of $9 has been removed, effective immediately.

The surcharge was introduced in November 2010 to assist with the recovery of additional screening and handling requirements that were necessary to comply with heightened border protection and increased aviation security measures introduced by the US Transport Security Administration.

I just googled and found a forum.. "quickly" ..over there.. that stated the surcharge was dropped in March or at least they were not charged it in March?

has anybody elses PO not charged the $9?

Hi Viewmont,

The Aviation Security surcharge has been discontinued as of the release of the notification. This means that while the changes which will be introduced on November 5 have not yet taken effect, the Aviation Surcharge change has.
