Unbelievable!!!!

I get the NEGATIVE feedback from buyer who NEVER paid - had no intention of paying AND has a history of non-payment as well. I though once the dispute had been finalised (to which she never responded) neither party could leave feedback at all! What a joke this feedback system is!

Oh and she has the audacity to bid on my items to which I have cancelled and now blocked her!

Unbelievable!!!!

I still don't understand how feedback honesty such as this somehow means sellers leaving comments are "untrustworthy".

I think the comment simply reflects a frustration that is actually shared by many sellers regarding non-payers - who not only may be breaching ebay policy, but alaso a legally enforceable sales contract.

The comment left in these cases, is there for other buyers and sellers to see, nothing underhand or dodgy about it.

If the non-paying pest reports it, ebay would probably remove that type of comment and they might issue a policy violation, however you and I don't know that for sure, we can only speculate.

Hopefully the comment left will deter other non-paying pests from wasting that sellers time & $$ - and it is certainly is positive for me as I can add that buyer to my block buyer list as IMO, I (along with other sellers) are not currently being protected as we should be, from these pests in this trading place - and must unfortunately add blocks and buyers manually, rather than the system being set up to protect us all.

Unbelievable!!!!

As a buyer, I sometimes look at a seller's feedback comments, not just their overall % score.

And of course, I click into any neutrals or negatives to see what a buyer had to say.

If a seller replies with something fairly factual, such as

NEGATIVE!!! BUYER NEVER PAID. WHINGED ABOUT POST WHICH WAS $13 FOR A 3KG BAG

Then I have more to judge it on. I might then open the item description and eg read to see what postage was mentioned in the original ad and for sure, if I read a buyer complained about postage costs that were reasonably predictable, I would be on the seller's side, I would be happy to buy from them.

So I think it can actually help a seller to give feedback. Comments that just have a go at a buyer aren't much use, but ones that tell the story eg didn't pay, would not meet postage costs etc, they are useful to know.

I used to be so locked into selling on eBay years ago, but was very disgusted when they introduced the policy that the seller could not leave a negative comment ,  even if you had the buyer from hell who you seem to have attracted to your sale. I also think that buyer ids should be clearly visible so that a buyer knows if they are being bid up by the seller or not.

Looking at the price that people are paying for items these days, the added percentage fees from both Paypal and eBay, the increase in the postage rates, I wonder how any of you are making any money.

To have to open several ID's so that you can get extra free listings, should see you as avoiding eBay fees and could get you kicked off. HOwever it would seem that anyone can do what they like on eBay these days and nothing is done about it.

good luck to you all, I certainly won't be back to eBay in the near future.  It used to be such a good place to hang out.

Just a quick update that Ebay have infact removed the negative comment and they have taken 'necessary' action on the non-bidding buyer. Funnily enough my stars improved as well.............................davewill
