We dispatch all packages via Australia Post with tracking. However, due to occasional scanning errors by Australia Post, some tracking numbers appear invalid. Despite customers confirming receipt of these packages, eBay unjustly withholds funds, citing lack of valid tracking. This practice is detrimental to small businesses, especially during challenging times, as eBay's actions are financially constraining. Attempts to contact eBay have yielded no response, prompting consideration of a class action lawsuit.
This issue has been a topic of discussion among eBay sellers, with some considering legal action due to perceived unfair holding of funds.

Additionally, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) handles disputes related to financial services, including issues with online platforms like eBay. Sellers have previously been advised to lodge complaints with AFCA regarding fund holds.

Given these circumstances, consulting with a legal professional to explore the possibility of initiating or joining a class-action lawsuit may be a prudent course of action.

If you can point to a post by davewil which declares eBay to be full of masterstroke changes, I will eat my sandals.
Is it not rather that the eBay member to whom you refer has stated - simply - that he had not had the issue of scanning errors? This is important information; the scanning issue referred to by the OP is not widespread.
davewil has also stated that his funds have not been held as a result of fallen metrics; again, this is important information. Itโs not praising eBay to work out how to avoid its punitive measures. Thatโs just common sense.
The best way to avoid problems is to see the pitfalls. Showing others how to see those pitfalls too, and giving advice on how to navigate through, past, under, over or around those pitfalls is not a cheering manoeuvre.
Thatโs my perspective. Iโd a thousand times rather have advice that helps me than a chorus of validationโฆ
Disclaimer: I am not an eBay representative, employee, manager, etc. Iโm not a ra-ra-ra eBay endorser; I appreciate eBay for what it is but acknowledge its faults.
