I have sold the last 3 items where it appears the "Free Post" checkbox has been prechecked automatically. I am led to believe as in the past that upon entering postage details and the postage cost is calculated that the buyer is paying but with the box automatically prefilled unless I go over the form you can get caught out and have to pay the postage! This has only happened recently. I have been a seller since 2000 and felt that fees being charged on postage costs was bad enough but this is really taking the cake.
Does this really sit well with ebay policy makers? What the hell is going on?

It pays to do a quick check before clicking the confirm listing icon.
Ebay also often populate international postage details from previous recent listings. Can be a real problem if the item is heavy and not intended for international postage.
Another one to watch is ebay activating the automatic offers icon. I never use this feature, but ebay seems to " help " by randomly checking the box to activate this on a pretty regular occasion.
