Just a question - why has eBay Australia not adapted the 2 full days full to open UIDs like in the UK or USA? Some sales you know you will not get paid and time goes by so slowly. Do you think this would make your processes better if eBay AU allowed you to?

I got paid today for a transaction that occurred on 29 Dec. 4 days before.
It would not make any difference to my processes.
ebay haven't adopted many of the policies used in the US and UK. Like charging FVF on postage, requiring proof of delivery not just posting.
I doubt we would be able to cherry pick the features we want, so I am happy to go with the status quo.

I wish they would do this especially after having three people not pay in the last week. One of them I knew wasn't going to pay just by reading the first page of her feedback. Nearly all comments read "buyer did not pay or make contact", "don't sell to this buyer waste of time" etc. Another got in contact after 5 days to say "sorry I don't need this dress anymore" after winning the auction. Another used the buy it now option to purchase two items and now 5 days later has still not paid. I think Buy it Now especially should mean buy it now!

if you only offer Paypal, you can set your listings for Immediate Payment. Until the buyer pays, the item stays listed.
You do limit your market, as it precludes any other form of payment, pickup, combining postage....

Sometimes you just get that 'feeling' they won't pay. 95% true after 2 days. It would be a nice inclusion just like how US Sellers get a discount for holding TRS (although this may have been revoked recently?)
Currently have 13 unpaid items - very rarely do I have less than 5 at any period of time

I'd say the most likely reason is because we allow non-eletronic payment methods in Australia, and some of them can take more than 2 days to process (especially mailed cheques/money orders). Still, if a seller only accepts electronic payment methods that are fully integrated with eBay's checkout, I can't see it being too hard for the 2-day option being made available.
Just for everyone's information, yesterday I had a play with the shopping cart and can confirm that if you add several items from a seller who provides automated P&H discounts, the discounts are applied and displayed in the cart. You can also add immediate payment required items to the cart and continue to shop, so for anyone prepared to only offer PayPal and has resisted immediate payment required purely because of P&H discounts, that problem is one step further to being solved. (I'm not sure if everyone has the cart now, and I think there's going to be a teething period as buyers get used to it).

I agree with Digi, in the US only electronic payment methods are allowed so there is no wait for funds to clear with bank deposit.
If they reduced it to 2 days here there would be a lot of unhappy buyers and sellers if bank deposit was offered.
I do state on some of my listings to get in touch if they are not paying with Paypal within 4 days so I can exempt them from the unpaid item process and most who are usig bank deposit do so.
