Views / Watches

Now that I am selling I have noticed that their is a heading Views/Watches. I cannot understand why the two things have been combined. I was looking for a counter to put on my selling page and it looks like it is not an option anymore.

This Views/Watches section is totally useless to me. First up I want to know for sure how many people have actually bookmarked my page as these are potential buyers which is very important. I also want to see how many people have stopped by to look at my advertisement but it means nothing to combine them.

Please let me see how many people have bookmarked my page and let me see the number of lookers on my page/selling page on my ebay.lseparately.

Re: Views / Watches

I think you are reading it wrong, they are not actually combined. You will see two numbers under the 'Views/watchers'. The top number are the people who have viewed your item and the bottom number are the people who have put it on their watch list.

Re: Views / Watches

I only ever take any notice of the watchers.

Though of course it is quite interesting to see how many page views my items have received as a very broad guide to the general interest in the item, I know that people choose to look at items for a whole range of reasons, only one of those being that they may actually become potential bidders. I often just 'trawl' without any intent to bid or buy.

'

Another reason I'm not greatly interested in the 'views' is that I've noticed when I list an item, there is always a 'lag' in the items actually appearing in searches. Sometimes the lag is as short as 5 minutes and at other times, it can be up to an hour or so. (I have had a few items take a few hours to appear ) Ebay has put sellers on notice that this may happen.

However, the reason I mention this is that, regardless of whether the item has appeared in the searches or not, I start getting 'page views' from the first moment I list it. I don't really understand why but it reduces my faith and interest in them.
