Ebay has made in impossible to sell outside Australia with their new rules , I just sold 2 items which we sell all the time ,there made in bulk and are all the same, in 20 years of selling them never had a issue until now, this is how they do it, this can be anything any value , it is disgraceful and down right unfair.
buyer receives item within 4 working Days from Australia each item $75 + there is $52 shipping fee total $202 when he receives item states there not as described , states there not Carbide , which in description never states there carbide only Carbide tipped , so they can be changed when blunt.
I send message to buyer please return item we will fully refund you including your shipping , we never got a reply , WE CONTACT OBAY they said we need to provide him a return label , we cannot produce a return label for International transactions , we have 5 days if you cannot resolve issue with buyer he will be fully refunded and allowed them to keep item.
they now allow full on Freud where the seller has no rights
I AM CLOSING DOWN ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING FROM NOW

I've never sold many expensive items but I know exactly where you are coming from. International sales can be the pits if you strike a person who knows the system and has a mind to recoup some of their money. It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth when you know you have been done.
It can happen with domestic sales too, but given the shipping costs you stand to lose on international sales, you are probably just as well off to do as you say-close down international sales.

If you had followed the return steps properly you may not have had this issue. You did not need to contact Ebay so soon.
When you go to through the Return process - where the step is to issue a label - there is a drop down list which says "cannot issue label due to buyers location" (can't remember the exact words).
Once you have finished the rest of the return process, the buyer would have received a message to send the item back to you.
They would also have had to upload tracking in order to satisfy the return requirements.
Half the time the buyer doesn't even do this and the return times out after a while.
Until you get that item back, you don't refund.
If it's not too late, start the Return process as I mentioned above.

Yes but recent Ebay promotion

Yeah not good enough Ebay, how about Ebay pays international postage on returns, then would go for that, but even with this offer not worth it.

Well I was pretty open to posting internationally until I was slugged with a Postage Time transaction defect. I posted it within the stated handling time but it was being posted overseas and took longer than eBay's stated delivery date to arrive. So, eBay was happy to hit me with a late defect. Thanks, eBay. ๐
Not a rant against eBay or anything, just a warning to other sellers posting internationally. I would increase your handling time to at least 5 days, possibly 10, to therefore allow a longer estimated delivery date. Just helps to cover delays in shipping that can be common when sending internationally.

If you have tracking on the item and post the item over the counter so you get a lodgement scan inside your stated handling then ebay will remove any late delivery defect. Doesn't matter how long it takes to arrive you are protected.
If you have no tracking then you are at the mercy of whatever the buyer answers to the delivery date question and any defect will then stay in place.

I completely closed down all International sales will not post outside Australia anymore thru Ebay , there is no use you get no support help just lost complete $201 dollars , and now struggling to get my items back , for whatever reason they had requested me to show proof of shipping cost to the USA , sounds like they reckon I'm the thief
I spent over 1 hr on the phone today , sent funds thru Pay pal for the cost to return items to us , now we see the email address he paid us for has come up as unclaimed whatever that is for , really it is not worth dealing outside Australia , this mob has no scruples

Completely agree. I have no idea why anyone would risk selling outside of Australia anymore.
Even if you just sell a low cost item to an international buyer, you risk losing the postage when they raise a claim.
In addition to this, Paypal fees for international transactions are higher than AUD and you pay ebay fees on the much higher postage costs.
So basically your return on international sales is significantly lower than AUD sales and the risk of international transactions is much higher. You would have to be mad to play that game.
