I haven't had a sale since Thursday night. Has anyone else noticed their sales slowing down?

Hi,
yes Thursday night like a switch was turned off.Funny how that could happen to a number of sellers without any non Ebay circumstances to explain it.

Like you I often notice the switch thing happening. Sales feel pretty "soft" at the moment and buyers have been very cautious for some months now. I have been putting a lot of time & effort into ebay recently and my sales are currently 20% above long term trend. This has been helped by five sales of items at the top of my price range ( $400-$500 ) in the last few weeks which is pushing my averages up. The 150 free auctions on the private account last week, went very well with animated bidding, so maybe auctions could help keep things moving if you sell rare collectables or specialised products. It is certianly hard going at the moment, but buyers are still out there. It helps to keep listings fresh, revising old listings and keeping a steady flow of new listings to attract traffic. I auction a few "window dressing" type rarer items through the stores as this also attracts traffic. I start them at a reasonable price and even if they dont sell, they are cheap advertising. I am also listing a number of items at the cheaper end, as buyers will spend $10-$12 dollars without thinking too much, but have a look at the stores and maybe buy something more expensive. These ideas may not work for everyone but I hope they may be usefull to someone.

Just one other thought. If you sell rare or collectable type items it may be worth considering opening your sales up to overseas clients. Its not that hard once you get used to the changes and opens your products up a lot bigger audience. International sales are a rapidly growing segment of my business and are picking up the slack from soft Australian sales which are being affected by government policy and general ecenomic uncertianty at the moment.

I sell die cast cars & between my two selling accounts ive had the best 7 days in sales for the past 6 months.
in total 29 sales & i may add not one single non payer (big thanks to my buyers).
The first 6 months of the year have been very slow so lets hope the 2nd half is better.

My sales this month is the best results I have had all year.
I am actually having trouble keeping up with orders.as I was previously only sellng maybe 1 - 2 items per week in the bad times.
Especially in the last 2 weeks, 2 - 3 items per day. Last weekend over 10 sold .
Don't know what is different is, but I have had a SALE on over the past 2 weeks for a longer period than I normally would.
So this might be the key??
