How do I get a response from Ebay about another seller who is using my photo (which has been cropped to take off my user name) to promote her items which are NOT the same standard as mine. The photo is clearly in her listings, she has 5 listings that have my photograph in them. I have reported the items and it says I will be contacted by ebay to say they have received my report. Im still waiting. Meanwhile another seller is selling her product at a cheaper price for a poor quality item using my photo to promote it! Can anyone help?

I also had the same problem, see my previous post in selling, but ebay fixed it in the end.
They did say however, that I should have contacted the seller and asked them to remove the photos, they may not be aware it is a copyright issue. Send them the link.

Sometimes the person may not even realize they have taken your photo. Sometimes if I am having trouble photographing something, especially dark items, very detailed items or really tiny things, I'll go to google images to get a "stock" photo. I do make note of that in my listing though and add my own photos of the actual item.

Send them a formal request to remove your photos from their listings within 48 hours or you will be taking action against them for the theft of your intellectual copyright.
You need to report the listings to ebay giving both your item nu ber and the seller's but as they have cropped the images ebay may not act without a bit of prodding, if that happens ring them up and tell them you are prepared to get the authorities involved if they do not take action to remove the pictures.
One bluff or the other may work lol.
It says in this book I am reading that by 2065 80% of women will be overweight.
See what a trendsetter I am?

As a seller, I have never had to take any action further than sending a pleasant message to the other seller and asking them to please replace the photos with their own.

If your picture is hosted on a web site (photobucket for instance), you can change the picture attached to that particular URL. The resultant picture is the copier's issue. And if you do it properly won't impact on your own listings

You can't really do that though davewil if you are also using the photo on a hosting site such as seller sourcebook. You can add a light watermark with your member name across the photo.
Davewil, If you can do it without it affecting your own listings I'd love to know how.

If you're using a site like Photobucket, where you can edit an image entirely without changing its URL, and the member using your image is using the URL rather than anything else (which you probably won't one way or another until changes have been made / saved) then you edit the original photo to whatever you want it to be and revise your listing with a new image (different URL).

I'm not sure if it's relevant in this particular case but if you click on 'Account' and then 'Site Preferences' , there's a section there called 'Share your Content' which should be set to "No" if you don't want your photos to be available for anybody else to use.
