What has happened to ebay? No sales it is frightening .Anyone else ??????

You talk of it being like a busy shopping mall in the real world, but I don't see Shopping Malls placing placards inside people's shops telling them to leave the shopping centre and buy elsewhere! eBay used to be a vibrant marketplace, where you could get anything within the realms of legality and nowadays it has 1001 rules hostile to the seller, and it goes out of its way to make sure that people buy elsewhere .... I don't think that Chadstone Shopping Centre runs that way, really.

OK call me paranoid (really, I don't mind ) but...

Monday, not a peep. Tuesday BANG!! I get almost a whole week's worth of sales in 24 hours! Hooray, I think, my store is starting to catch on.

Alas, just as the sales payments start flowing in, my monthly eBay fee is charged (a day early I might add). And the fee is within a few dollars of the 24 hour sales!!

Yesterday: nothing. Today, so far: nothing.

Cue Wooowwooowwwoo music.

I went from a regular 30-40 sales a week and tons of offers to 1 sale per week for last 2 weeks. This week is looking like a big fat zero and the only message I have had from a buyer all week is a 50% offer..

That is not circumstantial economic factor. They have fiddled with the search results.

I don't sell at the same level you do as I have wound back my activity in this market, but have had a regular volume of sales relative to my listing acitivity that I was ok with. 

But all of a sudden I have had only had 2 sales in the past 6 days on this ID.   Highly unusual as this time of year is traditionally busy for this market.

I too think that it is not external market forces that are at play here and I agree eBay interference is by far the more likely scenario.

I'm starting to think the same way, after relisting Super Mario 3 after it had next to no views or watchers over the course of ten days. I mean, it's only Mario 3, one of the most popular and sought-after Nintendo games.

ebay for me is now equivalent to the likes of QS and GT ... not much of anything to speak of

pretty much over all of it ...

I cannot run a business where I pay money for the service of having my listings seen and yet at certain times (usually the busy times) the powers that be, deem for my listings to be limited in exposure if seen at all

christmas was poor but easter so far has been absolutely dismal and very much confirmation for me that it is time to wind down my store on ebay and look to other avenues

I too reject the insinuation of the current clime on ebay as being solely economic as this slump in sales is also being felt in other countries and usually when economics are a factor it is more of a gradual decline rather than an instant point in time when sales stop turning over as is the case at least I feel which is happening on ebay present time

who knows maybe when ebay carries out its regular Friday night maintenance they just might slip and turn the lights back on lol
