Do not contact them again, let them contact you when ready to pick up and hope it goes past the 45 days for them to open a dispute and if they leave neg feedback call ebay and ask them to read the messages from the buyer and how you tried to arrange pick up, with their replies seen as rude and they should remove the feedback.
Ask to speak to a supervisor if the one you talk too says it can not be removed.
If still no luck then call again on another day and you will more than likely get a different person and they might help.
Seems some will help more than others.
Other than that if they leave a neg reply to it stating tried to arrange pickup time but nothing suited buyer.

I would disregard the sale price - I get that it can make the whole thing seem worse, but it doesn't change the situation or the core issues.
The core issue (to me) is that you have a buyer who purchased a pick-up item and wants the post-sale arrangements / terms to only suit them, that's ridiculous no matter what an item sold for.
So, if it were me, I would send them one, simple message - not rude or anything, but make it clear that my conditions are firm.
eg "As I wish for you to be able to receive the item safely and in as described condition, I am not prepared to risk the safety of the item by leaving it out indefinitely, in a place where it can be seen and collected easily, as well as subject to winter weather conditions. I am happy to be as flexible as possible in arranging a suitable day and time for safe collection, however it is simply not possible for me to be available at all times, therefore it's imperative that a mutually agreeable date and time for collection is arranged."
