What to do about a possible bad buyer

I had a couple of unreasonable customers who even though I did everything possible to make them happy I ended up with a neg and bad DSR. I am trying to step gently to get my DSR up (and hopefully no more negs) by the end of Jan so I can increase my selling amount I have an item up for auction, still 9 days to go but doubt it will go to much higher cheat item. Now I just checked out the current winner and they have left a LOT of neutral and negs for sellers. To me it looks like he/she buys cheap items then is playing God with the sellers ratings I really can not afford another bad buyer.

So what should I do I am thinking of cancelling their bids and blocking them but that worries me there is nothing to stop them making a few more accounts and buying cheap stuff just to give me negs.  also I am worried that if I do that the other bidder who looks like a good one will think this is some way to increase the amount they pay.It may work out and a good buyer outbids them so I am tempted to wait it out and pray they do not ein then ban him/her after the auction ends

Second bit of advice I could do with help is what is good for ulcers I am sure I will have one soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Sell as BIN through your store? That's presumably why you opened it.

Cancel the bid and block the buyer? Your paranoia level would tend to indicate this to be a prudent option.

Re: What to do about a possible bad buyer

I think you need to go with your gut. I dodged a bullet a few times in the past before I started checking every bidders feedback left for others. I checked some after they had won and nearly puked when I discovered they left mostly negs. One turned out to be a non payer. He contacted me a few weeks later apologising and said he'd been away camping with no phone reception. Maybe true, maybe not. I said that I was sorry, but the item was no longer available 9even though it was). Well, didn't I cop a face full of abuse in the reply! I've got a very potty mouth and it even made my hair curl!

Thankfully none of the other left feedback at all, or left positives. I now check absolutely everyone. If they look too suspect, off with their head. It's just not worth the agro.

Re: What to do about a possible bad buyer

Thank you Dave and Tippy. I slept on it and managed to bring myself to cancel the bid and block them. I hate having to do things like that. I had a look a bit more at the stuff he was leaving negs on and a lot of the items where won for about $0.30-$0.50 it is crazy Ebay give buyers so much power without and come back from sellers.

I was planning to do a load of $0.01 auctions next time ebay did the free  listings but I think I will forget that ๐Ÿ˜ž

It's a tough call because trigger happy buyers do still leave positives occasionally. You may well have been one of the few that did get a positive, but I think the risks far outweigh the benefits.
