Where to buy stamps below face value

Hello,Does anyone know where to buy mint stamps below face value?We have a supplier who can supply mixed mint stamps(1c-$5) at 60% of face value.But the dealer can't supply much.We need about $20k worth of stamps each month.We are paying aupost over $20k a month sending letters to our customers.Is there any way we can save money on the postage?

Do a search for 'Glen Stephens', he would probably have the biggest on hand supply in Australia. I don't know if you'd get down to 60% FV with him but at 20k a month I'd reckon you could negotiate at 65% and he's probably the only dealer in the country who could accommodate that sort of volume.

You could try your luck with 'real life' philatelic auctions, mint decimal usually goes for about 50-60% face value after buyers premium but they are infrequent and you'd probably only pick up a couple of thousand per month.

I don't think there's any store that sell stamps below face value, according to information provided here http://wherecanibuystampsnearme.com/  there are stores that sell postage stamps but the price is similar to the one that's charged by the postal office. The only way to save some money is to buy a book of stamps.

What? Where did you get that info from? If I buy 1 stamp it costs $1. If I buy a book of 10 stamps it costs me $10. If I buy a book of 20 stamps it costs me $20. If I buy a roll of 100 stamps, it costs me $100. Stamps aren't one of those things where you can buy in bulk and save. If you could, everyone would be doing it.

ummmm, I know this is an old thread, but thought I might just mention to Tippy that maybe the original thought was "ebay stores" not actual bricks and mortar stores.    I know that there are some ebay stores who specialise in selling unused stamps at below face value - say pay $480 for $550 worth of stamps -

I have never throught it worth the trouble - but I know some sellers do.   I received a parcel last week from an ebay seller with fifty two stamps on the box!!!   equalling about $30 postage.   He must have a spit machine.

I once sold, on Gumtree, a heap of fresh, unused Australia $1 stamps (about $450 worth), 18 Australia Post 3-kg Express/Regular satchels (evenly split) and about 40 Express large/medium envelopes for $600 all up. These were left over from a now defunct home office, and I was happy to make this concession. What I don't get about a lot, if not all, eBay sellers selling these type of items is that they sell it for exactly the same price, if not more, than what one would pay at the local post office or post shop. Of course some sellers point to the fact that one can get an eBay discount of 10% (this offer is limited to one purchase ever by the way). Then many times the buyer has to pay postage on top of the item purchase, and, of course, the seller has to pay a selling fee of almost 10%. Who is winning here? Am I completely missing something here? Could someone please enlighten me to rationale of all this?
