Why does Ebay change the postage charge on item I am selling?

I posted an item to sell - clearly noted the postage charge as $15.00. Item was sold - when I go to send the invoice, it now states postage is $9.40. Yet profile of my item clearly states this.Capture-2.JPG

If I send an invoice to buyer - will I have to manually change postage charge to $15? Even this $15 is a reduced postage charge so not happy at having it reduced further.

Maybe it depends on location? Some sellers say that postage may vary according to location/state and to contact them before paying in order to pay the correct amount, or they say that postage is for NSW or VIC and that the final amount may vary.

I see $9.40 as well and I'm in SW WA so I don't think it's a location problem.

I changed my location to most whoop whoop areas in every state, still came up  $9.40

I checked the listing in an incognito tab, which means eBay doesn't pull my postcode for a postage calculation, and in the postage details it said "Standard Postage (Australia Post Standard Medium Box/Satchel) - $15.00".

I then entered my postcode and clicked "get rates" and it immediately switched to "Standard Postage (Standard Parcel Delivery) - $9.40".

OP - this technically shouldn't happen and I don't know why it did, but just out of curiosity, what postage service did you have entered into the field? Any parcel dimensions / weight entered anywhere?

Thats interesting  Digi,  and guess what, you dont have to go igcognito,  just use get rates without any

postcode specified and it goes to $15.00   Can only assume that they have an option or weight specified

that is acting as an override when a postcode is entered and therefore triggering a flat rate Australia wide.

@digi and punkz

Interesting, I tried just that at about 5pm today and no change at all - used another id and as a guest - zip, nada all remained as listed $14.00 and 2 x $9.40 no change no matter what I did

Veeeery interesting (insert twilight zone music here)

I get the same results as you. Out of curiosity, I tried a seller I have saved in an incognito window because I know they use Sendle and not AusPost. I tried both options (with and without postcode) and the results are the same (they don't mention AusPost), so it is really weird that it is different with the OP...
