Why have I had 24 bids on my auction listing but the base price hasn't shifted?

I have listed my iPhone 5s for auction at a starting price of $700. I have since had 24 bids but the price has stayed the same at $700? I've never listed anything for auction before so not sure if this is normal? Thanks 🙂

This is because the same bidder has bid 24 times,so unless/until another bidder bids the price will stay the same

you will find the same bidder has done this

they do this to add more to their max bids

They also do this to scare other bidders offen It looks like a lot of bidders are on your item some will think haven't a chance here so will give it a miss. I've seen this a few times and dont like it. So in my case I cancel their bids and send them a message If you wish to place a bid do it but not X number of bids increasing 5 or 10 cents per pop. In your case it  would be likely $5 a pop. At least if they are interested they will put a bid in that they are happy with and others can also compete

Why would you cancel their bids? you will end up losing alot more money and it's not against ebay policy that a bidder can't bid as many times as they wish but cancelling a bid because the bidder has bid more times than you like isn't really fair.

Why the heck would you cancel their bids......that is just crazy. Furthermore if you cancelled my bids you wouldn't get anymore to cancel.

If you have a bidder placing 24 bids on the same item they are trying to scare others, If they are for real they would put 1 bid  with their max. Everyone has their own ways of selling I like mine. I can understand a bidder increasing his/her bid maybe 3 times after that No its not on with me. If you were going to bid on an item would you increase your bid 24 times and you are the higest bidder???????????????

Isn't that the point to out bid other bidders? and if bidding 24 times scares other bidders off then well basically bad luck to the others,so if you list an auction at a price you're happy to receive then it doesn't matter if they bid 100 times to scare off others.Personally I would be very happy that at least someone has made a bid.
