Word of caution about E-Go couriers

We have used E-Go for several years and found them to be generally reliable.  However a recent incident may help other face with a similar situation.

We had a collection booked but the box was not collected on the day scheduled.  An email inquiry to E-Go (the only way to contact support) elicited the response that the driver call but the shipment was not ready.  Which was rubbish as (a) the box was at the front door at 8:30am, our CCTV showed no evidence ot the attempted pick-up.

When the driver did turn up the next day I asked why he did not arrive as booked.  His response "I did avise H/O my van was fulland that I could not make any more pickups, they said don't bother"

Moral to the story is don't accept any "fob-off" response.  Push for a full refund for failure to deliver the service.

Word of caution about E-Go couriers

I am less than impressed with e-Go couriers as a buyer.

Last week I had a phone call from a seller in Melbourne to ask why my order had been returned to him as undeliverable.

It appears that he was told that I was not home and a card was left in my letterbox but I did not respond.

I pointed out that it was a bit hard to respond to a card that was never left.....and it had done a round trip Melbourne-Sydney-Melbourne in just 6 days so they certainly did not give me long to respond.

The seller was very nice but tried to tell me how courier delivery works....I shut him down very promptly by pointing out that 3 members of my family (including me) had a total of over 70 years in the courier industry.

He then asked if I knew where I was on a certain day last week...yes I did.  Maybe the courier called at a time that I was out.  No, I was home all day....in fact I am home 24/7 during the week as I have mobility problems.  At the delivery time he mentioned I could even tell him which room I was in.....looking out at the front gate.

I had the feeling he was trying to find a reason to make me pay for the redelivery but I was not having any of that....it was not my fault that e-Go messed up.

The parcel was redelivered on Monday....with a different courier.

That's the thing with having mobility issues - we always know where we are  - hour by hour, room by room, day by day.

Word of caution about E-Go couriers

I have used E-go sucessfully for a few years now, but I did have a problem with a lost parcel (2 car bumpers, the old steel ones, wrapped up together).   They were going from Adelaide to Perth, but after a couple of weeks, the buyer still did not have them. After numerous emails, they said that they had looked at all depots in Australia, and no joy. I had to send them a daily email, asking if any news. They were finally found, and they said that "there was no address on them", which was BS, as there was a label well taped over with clear tape, and also the address written on the side with permanent marker, in case the label comes off. They went all quiet when I said "If there was no label, how was it found at the Perth depot?"

You have to watch some of the delivery drivers, they will literally run to the door, press the doorbell, run back out while putting the "no-one home" card in the mailbox, without even waiting for 2 seconds for someone to answer the door. I even watched one guy put the card straight into the mailbox and get back in his van and take off without even coming to the front door.

Word of caution about E-Go couriers

Happily used E-go.com.au for years, never an issue except around Christmas time.
Well I am in the middle of an E-GO not scanned in issue right now.
Made the booking 4212 to Wangaratta VIC, dropped off the carton at the depot on Wed 6th at 09:08.
Photographed the box on site at the depot and also photographed the box labelling and FB messaged to the buyer.

Receiving depot said place it over there with the rest of the e-go pile as they are off still for Christmas and not back till the 11th Jan.
Nothing on the website stating closed else I would have used another carrier.

I dropped another smaller parcel off at the same depot on Friday 8th Jan, that has been scanned and left BNE to SYD on 11th.

My larger carton is yet to be scanned, now 7 days later in 14 Jan 2021.

E-go emails are a mixture of my supervisor siad we are collecting backlog 4-10th jan, or just default messages stating nothing gets scanned until the item reaches a Hunter Express depot

I have been to the receiving deport and was told that e-go B double just cleared all the backlog this morning 13th Jan, not scanned but all loaded on a B Double to BNE, should be scanned there.

I am VERY anxious as the contents are expensive and I cannot afford to make a PayPal refund (read thousands).

E-GO have lost me as a customer because they DONT CARE and are disorganised AND fancy not declaring we are closed till 11th.  That smacks of deception.

Unhappy?  You bet.  I feel betrayed and ignored by customer non service.  However to be fair I bet they are working their collective asses off to fix things and cover the mismanagement of the break.

Tried to get a on line quote using Ego couriers and found out that this courier is not accepting car parts from January 26 2021.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT AND I LIKE TO  KNOW THE REASON? Have to look at other companies to transport goods around Australia.

Courier companies have the right to specify what they will and will not accept for delivery....why would you think you deserv an explanation for that decision?

They will still take car parts but they have to be in the original shipping cartons.
