I thought Aus post was bad having the extra days during the Christmas/new year hols but I forgive them the Chinese New Year starts on the 7th until the 14th but it seems most Chinese manufacturers are already starting to party. I have spent the whole day trying to get some items I need but everyone is sending the same answers no items will be dispatched until after the hols 16th 😞 Looks like I may be taking a break to.

Hahaha, I know the feeling. I had a supplier who messed up an order I placed well before Christmas and it only arrived last week !
Now he tells me he's out of stock of one of the items and won't be able to resend until about 1 month after they finish partying ! Not happy !

It happens every year so regular buyers from China take that holiday break into account when purchasing.

Yes I know, that's why I ordered early December, trying to allow for the slow Christmas post as well . . . . .

Australia Post had ONE extra day between Christmas and New Year...their annual industry Picnic Day.
Do you really begrudge them that after the busy runup to Christmas.
Do you make a big fuss when the banks and other financial institutions are closed for Bank Holiday but no-one else is on holiday?
Most industries have an annual Picnic Day in their awards and usually combine them with a weekend or other holiday period to maximise the time off. It never seems to cause the angst that the AP Picnic Day does.
