I relisted an item yesterday without making any alterations to the price and it has relisted at $50 instead of $140 and someone has now purchased it.
What do I do? wear the loss or try and get them to cancel the transaction? $50 wont even cover the cost price let alone fees and postage.
This is not the first time I've a relisting glitch, last time it bumped the price up though, so I didnt sell any of them and was able to revise.

I'm thinking I'll message him and see what kind of response I get. If it was summer I'd probably just send it, but this time of year is so quiet, I dont need to be losing money on anything I sell.
I will definitely be looking closer at my relists from now on, its probably time I swapped over to GTC but I like manually relisting because it makes me keep a closer eye on my stock levels.

oh dear
I've had a few listing glitches myself, so I now religiously check the fee calculation at the bottom of the listing page before submitting, as this most usually shows up most anomalies.
I suppose I can only say what I would do myself as a seller - or expect as a buyer - and that would be to cop it on the chin, and send it :_|

my guess would be that they had it on their watch list when it was originally listed. When you relisted they saw that the price was reduced and they bought.
You can ask them if they will consent to a cancellation, but they might not.

You have a choice to either wear the loss, ask for cancellation and hope for the best, or claim that the cat ate it. 🙂

I'm usually a "cop it on the chin" person, but this isnt my mistake, its ebays.
I relisted 6 items and the only changes I made was to quantities of 2 of them. I didnt change any prices at all.
I have emailed him and explained that the price is a mistake but, for his inconvenience, I am happy to sell it to him for $100 which is still a $40 saving for him.
He actually messaged me a query about the item before purchasing but he didnt mention anything about the price, he must have known it was too cheap because he was comparing it to generic versions of the same thing.

:_| I dont have a cat
The best 2 excuses I've ever read on these boards were the one where the woman claimed she accidentally bought something because she was breastfeeding & the buyer couldn't pay because the exhaust fell off the car-maybe you could combine the 2 & make a logical explanation.:-x
