Lyndal, I did not dispute what you posted.

I quoted your comments as my response was based on specific issues raised in your post.

Your comments were your perspective, my comments were mine, so they are both right aren't they ??

Sheesh ...

a winning bid,, now refuses to pay for,,

Thank you both lyndal and Janelle ..Smiley Happy

So I take it that if my starting the unpaid item dispute annoys the person so much

that they leave me some random negative feedback, then ebay will remove it when the case

is closed without payment.

I was just distressed about getting a negative .. you try so hard to keep a good record.

But I need to do something to recover the lost ebay fees, and the buyer needs  a strike to warn

other sellers.

My first posts here, thank you all, very helpful.

I don't suppose I am allowed to relist my item until the case has been finished with the non paying buyer?
Just so close to Christmas and was hoping to sell it now, while people are buying ..

I have an ebayer who bought an item from me (with 100 per cent feed back) and she hasn't paid.  Then I actually read her feedback and she has not paid for so many items of the last couple of years it is ridiculous.  How can she keep on buying and getting away with it.  It's not one or two times its 8 out of 10 times she bids - get her off ebay all together!!!!!

Hmmm brendabb, if all the sellers that left false positive feedback for the buyer instead opened an NPD, the buyer would have sufficient strikes against him/her that eBay would have restricted or closed their account...............undefined

Leaving feedback for a non-payer, does not prevent a strike being issued when a seller closes a non payment case.

True cats, but you see where I'm going with my reply - I'd bet that a lot of those sellers leaving the false positives didn't open an NPD, and give the buyer the well earned strikes they deserved...................

TBH I really don't understand the rationale that a seller that leaves a feedback comment for a non-payer will be any less likely to open and close an unpaid case so that a strike is issued by ebay.

IMO it seems more likely that the "do nothing at all regarding non payment" seller is less likely to open an unpaid case than those that leave comment. JMO though.
