what happens when a seller is advertising his items as "proudly made in australia" but sends you your item which has a made in india sticker on the box and on the product?? really annoyed at this deception as that was the main reason for choosing that paticular item, and after paying a premium price then finding out it was a cheap knock off is really annoying and ebay should do something about it, after the drama i had to go through to actually get him to send my item out i wasnt surprised as hes an all round dodgy guy, ( denied he received payment when i had faxed my receipt to him) hes buying cheap indian items and palming them off as australian made and we try do the right thing by supporting buying australian made and then theres this clown

I would open an Item not as Described Dispute. It certainly sounds like he's selling dodgy stuff. If you paid a "Premium Price" for a Knockoff and you were told it was genuine item, then go for it. ๐

i beleive it was a premium price for what the product actually was, and to find out it was made in india for proabley around $2 or less is annoying because i paid $48 because i thought it sounded about right for what it would sell for had it actually been made here in australia, if i didnt care about supporting australian made i could have bought from india myself but im quite staunch about supporting australian made, that was the reason why i bought from him. wonder how many sales hes made because people think its an australian product he should be in politics

It really doesn't matter about the $$$. If the item was described as Made in Australia and it clearly wasn't, that I think is enough for you tp pursue it further.
The sad apart about it is, you mentioned that you thought the seller was dodgy. He may be and will just keep ignoring you.
Keep at him if you feel you have been taken for a ride. Good Luck. ๐

How did you pay?
Bank deposit, I expect. If that is the case you are at the seller's mercy regarding any redress, and I doubt you will get it.
if you had paid using Paypal you would have had Paypal Buyer Protection, in which case you could have opened a not as described dispute. You would probably have had to return the item at your expense by trackable means, but you would have had your intial payment (including postage) refunded. And the seller would have had a defect recorded against them.
if it's within 60 days you can still leave appropriate feedback, but that will also just about guarantee the seller won't help you.

Did you pay via PayPal?
If so open an item not as described dispute.
And you know the only way you get your money back is to send it back with signature delivery to the seller.
Ultimately you are out of pocket for all your postage as it will not be refunded (advised to me by PP) - so you may well just have to wear it as a learning experience.
It leaves a bad taste in your mouth when this happens - been there myself but with a purchase from the USA. Cost $7 postage to me but PP wanted me to send back via express delivery with insurance & signature to get my refund (price quoted at that time from PO was $55+) all for a $15 item, so I chose to wear the loss for a trashed item.

because of the dramas an ebay case was opened against him and i was unable to leave appropriate feedback, i did end up receing my items when fair trade got involved they arrived 2 days later, i am glad i did take something from this experience and that is use paypal and i have always done ever since but what really bugs me is the fact its not made in australia....i could have bought a cheap one from india myself (would have been less drama!) had he not been such an arogant person to deal with and made me feel the amount was not worthy i probley wouldnt care but after the drama he caused by being a power tripper because hes the boss i feel he deserves to have a complaint made against him as i chose that particular listing because it was australian made . To me this is a real insult to those making quality australian goods, must be so hard to compete with over seas sellers as stuff is so cheap online and this clown is doing that but saying its australian made hes not even clever enough to remove the stickers! and i

Just a thought.
You said you opened a case against him - has this been closed by you.
When a case gets closed you can then leave feedback BUT if it is still open you can't.
