it would be good if ebay could give us the annual reports that the ato would ask them to give.
It would make tax records a lot easier.
ie: bla bla such n' such annual
sales: totalling - National = $..... International = $....
fees: ebay = $..... Paypal = $.....
Then just take off the total of your receipts for postage and Bob's your uncle ?:|

I wouldn't trust ebays figures and I doubt the ATO would either. Keeping proper books is just basic business and if kept up to date takes less than minutes a day

My other half has put together a spreadsheet that does all that for me and let's me do profit and loss analysis for any given period.
He looks after it and says that the only problem he has is that ebay won't provide their invoices in the correct format so he has to convert them manually.

you can just add up your Monthly Sales reports, that works too, (kind of!!)

Given your sales on eBay are minimal, rama, I can't see your issue.
As you doubtless keep proper records for your B&M, why not just add the online sales into your daily accounting?

Dave it gets quite hectic at times in the B&M, especially during these warmer months.
Time is of the essence and if the ATO can be notified as to total sales online by the various sites, it should be an easily worked out automatic email report to ebays sellers annually showing everything you need to easily work your tax out.
Yes I keep all records in excel spread sheets, but it would be nice to cross refference my accounting with the ebay records so maybe they could just have a financial year total of the monthly invoices.
