Methinks we are in need of lots of 100 free listing weekends.  That tends to move things along...and out of here...!!!

Having one of my best weeks in a long time. Overal the month is I think going to be higher than the average. May be because my things are beginning to show up in google searches.

I had a couple of crazy weeks end Dec. start of Jan, with two weeks of full time packing & mailing etc.  Sales then slowed right down for a couple of weeks. Picking back up now. I have used the 5000 free auctions to list some surplus stock. Managed to get 350 listings done with 60 - 70 % selling, some to strong bidding. This will fill in the hole of last weeks slower BIN sales. I used long auction times 7-10 days to pick up extra watchers in the slow period. ( I normally use 3-5 day auctions ) This seems to have worked nicely with the auctions gaining about the same interest as I would expect in "normal" times..

re. above ONE REALLY INTERESTING THING was I thought I would try a few 0.99 cent start auctions as I had never used them before.  ( Most started at $6.95 ). I listed 70 x 0.99 cent starts thinking it would create some interest. Many of the items where same as $6.95 ers. They where very much avoided by buyers, with less than ten recieving bids. The same buyers where happy to part with $6.95 start or more bids for virtually the same thing. Does the low opening start, colour buyers views into thinking the items are rubbish ? VERY STRANGE ????

Maybe they bid on 0.99c items in the past and sellers have refused to send them.
So are wary of this type of auction

Thanks Barrie, Normally I would say that sounds like a good theory, but the pool of buyers I have are a small group of regular repeat buyers ( both International & local )  with special collectable interest.  I have dealt with them many times before and have built up good repor with them. I even offer them select items first, if I find something juicy that they would like. I had hoped to create a bit of a bidding frenzy with the 0.99 starts, but it just didnt fly. These little quircks do fascinate me ( must have too much time on my hands ) ANY OTHER IDEAS ANYONE ???

Sales were quite slow last week, but there was a sudden surge this Monday which had me packaging for a few hours.. Today has been a little slow again though..

I actually find listing 0.99 cents gets more bites than having the auctions listed a little higher.. I guess it depends on the items.
