grr ebay are annoying me again....
I prefer bank deposit payment due to paypals fees and thats what I say in my listings. also if someone is picking up, coming to pick up anyway I prefer cash.... a preference I know I can't say must.
However I've had over the last week people say they can't read my deposit details or my invoice leads them direct to paypal ...
I've checked my settings and my bank details look to be correct, I don't have paypal as preferred payment and if I get the opportunity before someone pays straight away I copy and paste my bank details into the special instructions of my invoice ....
what am I doing wrong. I appreciate if its all too hard a buyer will pay paypal , but those who actually want to work with me and pay deposit, they can't even find the correct details! and yes when a buyer is picking up they always end up paying by paypal (I'm aware to list I have to tick that option - thats ebay rules) but the listing seems to take them straight through..... fortunately they delete out post so I don't pay 9.9% on that but why is this happening.... any helpful hints please?

i repeat my previous comment. i dont understand why a buyer would choose to pay with a method that removes pretty much all ebay/paypal protections if the sale goes wrong.
i do understand why sellers would prefer buyer use bank deposit.
and i still ask, how many sellers choose bank deposit when buying on ebay?

Well me for one. If I buy something for 99c - sometimes with free postage! - I don't feel right about using paypal. So for low price items, yes I do.

would you do it for say $99 or $999? where do you draw the line? i realise losing 99c isnt an issue for most buyers. although theres another thread with a seller going nuts over a 30c fee.

agreed david, but few of my sales are $99!....
most are fairly low priced. going nuts over the 30c fee, you mean the one you can't refund?!... if they sold 10 items all paid for separately that might be of annoyance... but yes is it really worth that sellers time?

I put my bank details in the listing, they are available through checkout if the buyer isn't using the mobile app and I have them in the item won notification email which you can edit to add a message. Believe it or not I still get the odd buyer asking for my bank details LOL.

Lol. All the details allow is depostis.
It's the same information that is on cheques, except a cheque has your signature, and nobody ever used to complain about paying things by cheque.
