buyer claims goods short deliversd

Last week I was emailed that I had short delivered on an order but that the  postal  envelope had not been tampered with. I wrap my goods in about  four rounds of cling wrap so I had my doubts about it. I was going out to dinner so I left it until the next morning

The Next day  I received an" ebay user information request " and I emailed  rthe buyer that the correct number had been posted but that I was sending the amount that were claimed missing anyway. I also advised that I would report her story to the Post Office investigations branch. I received an immediate email saying that she was willing to pay for the "supposed' missing goods and not to worry about the Post Office.

Then using a different name and email address I received a further order for  a repeat order  of the goods  but the address to post it was the same as the first. I fulfilled the order anyway.

Is ther a list of doubtful buyers that I can use to  check their honesty/

Did you happen to check the weight of the original parcel? How does it compare in weight to the second identical parcel you made? Or are the contents so light it is hard to tell?

No I do not bother with checks .The items are buttons and do not have a large value. I have been selling on ebay for years an have not had problems like this. I have just had a different customer with the same complaint to me This time she sent a message saying that she was short delivered and decided to advise me that unless I sent her some more she would report me to ebay.

I have a top rating with ebay which I value .I feel that I am being blackmailed by them for fear that I will lose my good name with ebay.

I suggest that any buyer who strikes the same problem report it here.

I wonder if they bought say 10 buttons and realised they needed say 12, so are trying to get freebies to make up for the rest they need?

I'm sure as a long time seller, you would probably do something similar to me? I sit there with the selling page open and for buyers who have bought multiple items, I start at the top of the list, select each item and put them together on the floor (which is where I now pack as I've had too many breakages on the table), then wrap the top item and pack it, then the next item, I wrap it and pack it, until I get to the bottom. Then I count to make sure I have the right amount in the box.

Are these buyers in a similar location where it could potentially be the same person, or related to each other somehow?

Re: buyer claims goods short deliversd

no  one was in Queensland and the other in Victoria.

I  have gone public with this so that if it occurs with other sellers in future we will be able to keep tabs on it.

It happened a couple of years ago with a customer in West Australia. She reported non receipt of her item so I sent a second - she again advised non receipt. I sent a third lot and advised that I had reported the missing goods to Aust.Post . I did not hear from her again.

No they were seperate complaints from different addresses. They both said that they received part of their orders.

This was incorrect, I wrap everything I post in three or four rounds of clingwrap which is very strong then used this way.

If they had said they had not received their parcel I would have accepted a parcel missing in the post. I do not accept any of my parcels leaking part of their order. They are too well wrapped for that.
