Hi there - my buyer did not pay, did not reply to messages etc...I have since relisted the item. I would like to leave this buyer bad feedback - how do I do that? (I don't want to open a resolution case). Thanks. Jo.

Sellers have not been able to leave negs for at least 4 YEARS..
Why don't you want to open an unpaid item dispute so the non payer gets the strike by ebay that they deserve??

It is easy, but it is also a hassle, only because it can take a while to resolve, but it's the only way to get some restitution.
It is also worth doing because while you can't leave negative feedback, they can leave neg feedback for you! Unpaid item dispute that goes in your favour removes this possibility.
It would have been better to open an unpaid item dispute before you relisted the item, even though it draws things out a bit. You may still be able to though, between 4 days or up until 32 days after the auction. It's also worth doing because ebay will refund your final value fee if you are successful - and it looks like you should be. You are paying unnecessary fees otherwise.
As you have left messages etc and have tried to communicate, and unless there is a jolly good reason buyer hasn't paid nor replied to messages, they really should get an unpaid item strike. Not paying is not on.
Good luck!

Sydney, give it a go. It's easy.
Firstly end the item you relisted, because the first buyer may buy it when a case is opened.
Then to the right of item select resolve a problem and open an Unpaid item case. If the winner doesn't pay in the 4 days they get, close the case, you get your FVF fees back, they get a strike and you are free to relist.
Then put that buyer on your blocked bidders list. From the ebay summary page, hover over account tab and select site preferences. Then select buyer requirements and set the blocks you want as well as adding the buyer the the BBL.
If everyone puts the blocks in place, non payers can't bid or buy anything on ebay. Better than feedback. ๐

there is no if about it. When buyer does not pay, you open NPB case, close it after 4 days you get your FVFs refunded, and the buyer is prevented form leaving NEG. Any NEG left before the case is closed will be removed on request.
of-course, if the buyer does pay before the case is closed, you will not get your fees back.

Actually, i should have said that once the case is closed nobody can leave FB, of any kind. ๐ You or the buyer, NEG or positive.

Pardon my ignorance...But I've often wondered why Sellers can't leave Negative Feedback.....I've been on both sides & can say that there are DEFINATELY bad on BOTH sides....in fact my experience has been some buyers are down right malicious!!....The "Strikes" that Ebay make against them don't seem to have any effect as I made a point of watching one who had given me a hard time & she went on to do the same to many others & as far as I know, is still out there, continuing on her merry way.......

that would be because some Sellers do NOT have blocks in place to stop bidders with strikes from bidding, but I can assure you that any bidder with more than 1 strike in the last 12months cannot buy from me, nor can they buy from the vast majority of sellers who use these boards.
put your blocks in place, always issue strikes for non payers and you'll find you have a lot less hassle.
leaving a neg. f/b as a seller maybe made your anger level abate for a minute or two, but serves NO real purpose. strikes do!
