buyer requests declaring lower price to avoid import duties

Hi All , just sold an item that i thought would be posted to the US---buyer ID stated that they resided in theUS.

Paypal payment showed shipping address to be Turkey.

Message left with that payment requested the following

"dear sir , please mark value  X$ on declaration to avoid problems at Turkish customs , otherwise they hold items and ask for bribes and usually items get lost"

**bleep**.

Where does this leave me?

The buyer is registered in the US has 200 transactions , 100%

I fear sending the item to Turkey ,  if it all goes pear shaped ,  i lose product and money.

Any thoughts

Regards

Re: buyer requests declaring lower price to avoid import duties

Just found this in some notes I had, maybe this will help :

go into Account Settings, then Site preferences. Scroll down to Postage Preferences and click Show. In the drop down there is an option to select Exclude Postage Locations From Your Listings. Click Edit on the right of that option. The next screen has a list of all the different regions. If you don't want to post to any entire region, click the check box at the top and it will tick all the boxes for that region. Do that for each region. If you only want to post to certain countries in say Europe, select the Show All Countries and leave the ones you want to post to unticked. Tick the Apply To Current Live Listings box, the apply. All done!
